Re: Review of Philosophy from the Mud

Post by Heber Sebastian Toro »

I have read "Philosophy from the Mud" by Erik Quisling and I think it is a thought-provoking exploration into the depths of philosophical inquiry. Quisling delves into the complexities of existence, morality, and consciousness, offering fresh perspectives while acknowledging the messy realities of human experience. His writing style is engaging, blending intellectual rigor with accessible language, making complex philosophical concepts comprehensible to readers of all backgrounds. However, some may find Quisling's ideas challenging or unconventional, requiring an open mind and a willingness to engage deeply with the material. Overall, "Philosophy from the Mud" is a stimulating read for anyone interested in grappling with the big questions of life and the human condition.

Great review! I think I’m going to pass on this book. However, I appreciate the interesting topic at hand (effortless theory) being explained through both fiction and non-fiction and the author’s effort to be accommodating to all individuals with varying beliefs and outlooks.
The cover is what I don't like about this book. Since this is a self-help book, I would have liked it if the book's title and promotion reflected that it was a self-help book.
While I didn’t outright dislike the cover (it got my attention, at least), I do agree that it should better reflect what this book ultimately represents.

Although this sounds like a book about The Law of Attraction, I'm interested in learning more about the five laws of Effortless Theory. I like that there is also an element of fiction in a self-help book. Great review!

Today's book is a unique combination of self-help and graphic stories. The minimalist visuals perfectly balance the profound metaphors of the fables.

With the way the book is presented, sampling this book was very easy. It is easy to read and a very fun read. I like the idea of thinking that earthworms or other creatures having warriors, kings and queens. This will be a fun read for kids. Congratulations on BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

Erik Quisling's "Philosophy from the Mud" intriguingly blends fiction with insightful non-fiction, presenting the Theory of Masterful Effortlessness. The book, aiming to enrich lives through understanding and applying its five laws, also entertains with fables. Despite its misleading cover, the content offers profound life improvement strategies, meriting a perfect rating for its flawless execution and universal applicability.
