During their honeymoon on a resort island, Kelly and Tom Turbulo encounter a series of unfortunate events. Kelly's curiosity leads her to stumble upon a forbidden discovery in a pigsty shop, putting her life at risk. Filled with terror, she escapes from the pursuing terrorists and urgently contacts her brother to explain her dangerous situation. Later, it is revealed that these terrorists are plotting a deadly attack, entangling the couple in a global conspiracy aimed at wiping out North America. Kelly and Tom must find a way to thwart this dangerous plan and prevent its devastating consequences. Can they succeed in stopping the terrorists?

Dorothy May Mercer's standalone novel, "EMP Honeymoon," part of the McBride series, captivated me with its engaging action and clever humor. The fast-paced narrative, filled with thrilling scenes, kept me on the edge of my seat. Dorothy's witty dialogue, especially during exchanges between characters Sharon and Agatha, added a delightful touch. A memorable moment was when the duo outsmarted a CIA agent, providing a highly satisfying twist. The story follows a group confronting a terrorist threat against the U.S., keeping readers hooked with suspenseful cliffhangers. The author skillfully depicts the catastrophic impact of a nuclear electromagnetic pulse, illustrating the potential consequences for its intended target.

From the very start, this novel is a delight. The author's creative storytelling is captivating, making it impossible to look away. Alongside a subtle romantic angle, an intriguing plot twist heightens the excitement. Dorothy skillfully brings forth genuine, relatable characters, reflecting everyday personalities. Kelly and Tom's disrupted honeymoon leads to a high-stakes battle with friends, guarding their country from imminent disaster. With compelling mystery and suspense, readers will remain thoroughly engrossed.

The TV talk show interview was my favorite part of the book. It centered on the fascinating theme of 'What if the power goes out?' It caught my attention by introducing a new concept I hadn't considered before. Exploring solar flares, especially the Carrington Flare, was unexpectedly enlightening. I admired how the author's details and website were seamlessly integrated, urging readers to explore further into the solar flare topic. This book is a treasure trove of informative content.

I found no dislikes in this book. It is exceptionally edited. I rate it five out of five stars because of the excellent work done in the book. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys action thrillers.

I just picked the first in the series of this book, which is Cynthia and Dan, and so far, I am enjoying my time with the time. I have no doubt that this too would be as interesting as it's predecessor.
