Reconfigurement: Reconfiguring Your Life at Any Stage and Planning Ahead by E. Alan Fleischauer is a book in the non-fiction genre. This book focuses on the importance of planning, working in a job you love, and having lots of fun before you retire. With inflation, the shrinking job market, and the lasting effects of COVID-19, the average American does not have a shot at a happy retirement.

The award-winning author is a highly regarded financial management professional, making him a perfect guide for people suffering financially. He covers many topics, like investing, life protection, affordable health insurance, and Social Security strategies.

One point the author makes in the opening pages caught my attention. He says that many books of this kind focus on only one of the two parts of the brain. Either they provide numbers and planning, appealing to the left side of the brain, or they try to appeal to the right side by concentrating on success stories and examples. The author makes an active effort by appealing to both sides of the brain. This technique leads to a greater understanding of the topic.

The writing style is simple and easy to understand. The author does not dwell on a topic longer than he needs to, which keeps the reader interested. While reading this book, I felt like I was having a friendly chat with my mentor because the author uses a conversationalist type of writing. He uses his unique sense of humor throughout the book.

He uses many quotes that fit the narrative and provide additional context. For example, early in the book, he quotes Winston Churchill: "Broadly speaking, human beings may be divided into three classes: those who are toiled to death, those who are worried to death, and those who are bored to death." These quotes add a lot of meaning to what the author tries to convey.

I would also like to appreciate the editing of the book. Whenever I notice grammatical errors in a book, I find it hard to engage with the content. However, I did not find even a single mistake in this book, which makes the book feel polished and professional.

The cover displays a person at the top of a hill with their arms spread out. This person feels free and joyful as they look at the beautiful scenery. This situation is similar to the freedom and joy the reader will experience once he reconfigures his life and enjoys what he does. Thus, the cover is a good fit for the book.

In conclusion, the book is a well-written attempt at guiding people to lead the rest of their lives happily. The editing is superb, the writing fits the subject matter well, and the author's humor keeps the reader hooked. Accounting for all the above points, I give this book a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars. There is nothing about the book that warrants a deduction of stars.

This book is mainly for people looking to retire soon. However, anyone suffering financially or unsatisfied with their job can benefit from this book.

I agree with you about the author's enjoyable writing style. It's as if he's talking and joking with us, like talking to our own uncle or grandfather. For such a heavy topic, he writes this well. Thank you for the review.
Your Sincerely
