Hello and good day! After reading a few pages of Cheryl kerr's book "Sandpeople", i was really surprised and happy to have read something with so much detail. It was very detailed in a way where i felt i could picture just about every scene that was described out on the pages. The way they explained to the reader how the wood on the walls of the boat felt and how the waves made her have to have a firm grip on her hammock bed was very intresting. Even the way the character was describing her home and family seems to pull you into the story even more. I have not read the whole book but by reading just those few pages it was nice. I actually probably wouldnt even mind reading the full book and i am very picky with what i choose to read so thats definetly a compliment to the author. :techie-studyingbrown:

Lea's plan come crashing down when her parents decide to separate and Lea and her brother are forced to spend their summer with their aunt and grandmother respectively. A story about how a twelve year old girl copes with life's challenges and bring some semblance of control in her life. An amazing story and a wonderful review.

This is a very difficult situation, when parents seem to have irreconcilable differences and decide to separate and this decision always has a negative impact on their children. I will love to go through this book.

SandPeople sounds like an exciting book for children from 8 to 14. Great review!

Parents divorcing is a decision that really affects children, which ends up making them struggle throughout their lives. I am glad that Lea was able to cope with the decisions of her parents, even though it wasn't easy. A great coming-of-age story woven with historical elements. Nice review.

A majestic review that gives me a great feel for exploring this book. Thank you.
This story is beautiful and very relevant to the real battles faced in this age group. The plot sounds wonderfully interwoven with a great balance of historical fiction-themed adventures, while dealing with the hard issues of reality, such as the divorce of parents. Lea's transformation in this story can inspire and educate readers experiencing similar battles from a deeper level of consciousness. Congratulations to the author!

It is regrettable that children are often the ones who suffer the most from parental divorce. Lea spends her summers with her aunt after her parents divorce in this heartwarming coming-of-age tale.

This story focuses on the reality of acceptance and moving on as in the case of Lea's unforseen separation from her parents. I guess this is a way of showing young people that there's hope even in dark times. Congrats to the author on botd!!

Divorce is a messy business and affects everyone in the family. Lea's struggle is easy to relate to so I'm sure the target audience would find this book appealing.
