Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book
Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book by Kalliope Barlis is an informative and interesting book that helps golf readers know what and how to apply various strategies learned in the book to their golf careers. The book also helps them understand what to do before, during and after their practice or while playing.
The author divides the book into three parts, discussing how golfers should use their brains. She trains them in neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) to improve golfers’ thinking by utilizing all their senses to enhance their performance. They should be able to listen, feel and see their targets up close every time they play. The second part is practising golf. Readers understand that getting better depends on the quality of their practice, not quantity. They should practice to always get the most out of it. Anchor good shots; know what to learn and how to learn it. In the case of unintended shots, they have time to reflect and notice what they are doing right or wrong. The third and last part is playing golf. Golfers should aim to get the ball into the hole in the fewest attempts possible by applying all the techniques and tips learned throughout the book.
What I liked the most about the book was how dedicated the author is to her readers. She includes exercises that golfers can practice to improve in the sport. The exercises help to improve the golfer’s game and help them become confident. Additionally, they help them know exactly what they need to do. This makes the whole learning process exciting and easy. Furthermore, the author not only discusses some of the things golfers do wrong, such as topping and chucking but also works to ensure that readers change and maintain a positive mindset that will help them achieve optimal performance.
There is nothing I liked the least about this text. Instead, I liked that the author provided illustrations at the end of the book, which complemented her explanations. From the illustrations, readers will learn the proper way in which they are supposed to do things and change how they have been doing them. This makes the book practical and easy to apply.
The book is incredibly well edited since I did not spot any grammatical errors or mistakes throughout the book. For the reasons discussed in the previous paragraphs, I award this book the maximum rating of five out of five stars. I recommend it to readers who aspire to be golfers since they will understand and know precisely what is expected of them. I also recommend it to amateur golfers because they will learn what they have been doing wrong and correct it.
