Review of Bhakti: A journey of Soul discovery
The book “Bhakti: A Journey of Soul Discovery” by Jennifer Duke is an intriguing story of how an atheist converted to believing in God. Her view of religion changed in a dramatic manner, which surpasses human thinking. As we are all on a path to self-realisation, Jennifer pens down her thoughts and experiences from her journey in an undiluted way.
The book is divided into fourteen chapters, each with a simple and unique heading. Some of the author’s thoughts are written in the form of a journal, with subsequent date entries. I loved reading the part in her letters to Fran about intuition and how to differentiate it from thinking. The author’s drastic transformative life experiences give answers to questions she previously had concerning spirituality.
I found it pleasant to read about the author’s spiritual path, which is an inspiration to me. I love the part where the author experienced an energy explosion on her eighth day in Peru. In this book, I learned we are one and made of the same loving energy. The author highlights the importance of meditation, which is an integral path to happiness.
There was nothing to dislike about this book. The author uses an easy conversational tone to relate to the readers. I got to understand the concept of calmness and seclusion better. Again, I learned about Hong Sau and would love to try it out.
I only found a few errors in the book, which did not disrupt my reading in any way. This makes it professionally edited. I rate it 5 out of 5 stars, as there’s no justification to reduce its rating whatsoever. This book is highly recommended to those who seek calmness through deep focus and meditation. Again, if you’d love to learn more about prayer, healing, spirituality, and self-realisation, then this book is for you.
