It's good that the author got to live his childhood dream, regardless of what the outcome was. As evidenced by the number of soldiers returning from war with PTSD, it's not an easy life. Some survive the war but don't survive when they have to reenter civilian life. Thank you for the insightful review.

Army Life by Darryl Jefferson is a memoir about a US Army soldier. The author shares about his life in the Army, the effects of war and violence, and the PTSD that many soldiers experience. It must be extremely tough not only on the soldiers themselves but also on their families. I will skip this book for now. Congratulations on the BOTD!

"And if there's one takeaway from that whole army experience, it could be that nothing is ever what it seems." This is a book for anyone looking for uncensored details of life in the military.
The reviewer suggests that the book may not be suitable for sensitive readers, and after sampling a few pages, I concur.
I commend the author's decision to write about this subject in depth. Congratulations on BOTD!

Thank you for your review of Army Life by Darryl Jefferson. I humbly and respectfully have a very different opinion about the book. I read the Kindle sample. It was a tough and challenging read for me. Its content is full of vulgar language and gross misogyny, painting an unsettling culture of the US Army. The author's self-described learning challenges, social problems, antisocial behavior, and awkward personality were unnerving at times as he blamed the army for trying to stop him from enlisting and, in a psychotic rage, stated that he would kill them before they killed him. That is when I decided to end the reading. His use of MySpace to post blogs about his ranting and raving against women and the army was alarming and led to his dismissal from ROTC at Pacific Lutheran University. I did not enjoy the content at all.

"Army Life" is a compelling and eye-opening read that offers valuable insights into the sacrifices and challenges faced by those who serve. I highly recommend it to readers interested in gaining a deeper understanding of military life. However, sensitive readers should approach with caution due to the heavy use of vulgar language and explicit scenes.

The review provided valuable information. I'm eager to read about the author's life in the army. While one can assume that life is tough in such a profession, books like this offer valuable insights into the lives of soldiers.

"Army Life" captures the author's life in the army and after serving as an army soldier. One issue after serving in the army is the PSTD, which makes their life hard as they try to become civilians again. Nice review.

Fabulous!!! Amazing!!! I really don't know how to write more appraising words for the review. I am not a sad or depressed type of reader so I avoid such content, but to write a review in such an interesting and intriguing way is an art. The reviewer didn't give any spoilers and I want to read this book.

Many boys are attracted to the excitement of military life, dreaming of serving and becoming heroes. The story reflects this, showing both the good and challenging parts of being a soldier. However, it's important to understand the difficult realities soldiers face—like combat stress, dangers, paperwork, and life after service. The book "Army Life" encourages readers to acknowledge both the exciting and tough aspects of serving their country. Congratulations to the author, #BOTD!

Congrats on BOTD!
The lesson to be taken away from the entire army experience may be that nothing is ever what it seems. This book is for you if you're interested in true accounts of military life.
