Darryl Jefferson's military biography shares his dream of being in the military, his membership in ROTC, his experiences as a United States Army soldier in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the aftermath. He learned a lot including nothing is ever what it seems. I enjoyed the excellent book review.

"Army Life" by Darryl Jefferson tells about the author's experience in the Army. Since childhood, the author dreamed of joining the Army, and eventually did so. He was deployed in Afghanistan. I like that the author presented the military lifestyle realistically.

The author presents a true picture of what it takes to be in the Army. A prime illustration would be the frequent use of foul language and the promiscuous way of life of many of the military men, including himself. Congrats on BOTD.

I appreciate showing the authenticity of army life, I can understand the swearing, the banter, and the rinsing, but I could just not connect with the protagonist. I'm not a feminist, but his reactions to women are too much.

"Army Life" by Darryl Jefferson provides a raw and honest account of military service, exploring the harsh realities, debaucherous aspects, and the profound impact of war on mental health. The narrative courageously sheds light on the author's personal experiences and challenges the glorified notions of heroism in the military.

"Army Life" by Darryl Jefferson. An interesting book, talks about the author's true life story. He had the passion and was obsessed to join the Army. This book also shares his story of how fighting in the war could be. War can affect physically, and mentally. Determination is all we need as beings that we are. Congrats on your #BOTD.

"You're in the Army Now" in the new variation, but I was never able to romanticize military service, so I kind of believe that this long-time dream will only lead to disappointment. How can anyone choose a lifestyle that requires to abandon free will and be regulated by orders of someone of possible questionable decency? Apologies, I prefer to pass the book, but still congratulations on BOTD!

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how harsh, brutal, and grueling nature the Army was and how the author survived all challenges and pain he experienced and how did it affect his relationship with people around him, post army life?

The narrative delves into the author's childhood aspirations of becoming a hero in the Army, juxtaposing these dreams with the harsh realities of military service. By reflecting on his own journey, the author explores whether he was able to live up to his heroic ideals once deployed to Afghanistan. Nice review.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting memoir or autobiographical account of the author's time in the army and his deployment to Afghanistan. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This book paints an authentic picture of military life, capturing the profanity-laden dialogue and harsh realities. That's so interesting!

In today's BOTD the author shares his personal journey of life in the Army, from a young kid who dreamed of one day becoming a soldier through his time in Afghanistan. Readers will not only gain insight to what soldiers experience during training and times of war, but also the struggles they face post-war. I love that the author doesn't hold back his true feelings and gives a clear picture of life in the military. Thank you so much for your helpful review! :-)

Thank you for the great review. Yes, Army Life, the book, depicts what the true life is like being a soldier. I know a few men who have PTSD, and it is horrible to live like that. Small things can set them off that we don't even realize, like a loud noise or thunder.
