"Animal Village" by Nelda LaTeef is a really good book for kids. There are animal characters in the story; Chief Zamboha, a lion, is the head of the realm. LaTeef did a good job of describing their coexistence and shared battle for survival. It made me ponder how different things would be in this world if everyone followed this kind of lifestyle. The story is enhanced by excellent visuals, and there are a few proverbs sprinkled throughout. The wording was pretty simple, in my opinion. The things that most appealed to me about this narrative were its uncommon insight and positive morals. There are valuable lessons that will positively shape children's mindset and enable them to navigate the various stages of life and the realities they each bring, from the ability of the tortoise, despite her low status and small stature, to the extraordinary leadership of Chief Zamboha, to the events that followed the drought and the ensuing plague of hunger and thirst. Timba is an inspiration to follow because of her extraordinary confidence, persistence, and attitude of forgiveness and cooperation.
This book has nothing to dislike. The novel is set in West Africa and is based on an African folktale; the author adapted a well-known folktale for her work. Like other tales, this one was didactic as well. It imparts to its readers a variety of moral and life teachings, including unity, patience, and fighting obstacles. The animals' willingness to give up after going through several days of agony without seeing any results was what I liked about it. The novel had a lot of depth. I read it and saw no errors; therefore, it was really professionally edited.

For this book, I could not find any drawbacks. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 because this novel has a peaceful tone throughout. I kept reading this narrative over and over again because I wanted to remain and savor every word. Anyone who reads this book will learn a valuable lesson about holding onto hope when faced with hardship. I recommend it for younger readers. Readers who enjoy inspirational stories about nature will find it most appealing.
