I have never considered hope as a strategy, ever.
I like his approach of viewing hope as a strategy. I feel it's quite brilliant
I enjoyed the stories ( impacting business/ people and himself), quotes, and theoretical substantiations pointing to the role of hope in weathering life's storms while cultivating authentic happiness.
The chapter " Reverse Engineering Hope", further provides a significant elaboration on hope in terms of its comprising components, a summary in simple terms, derived from " decades of scientific research ".
When I go to sleep at night, I hope to wake up to my family and home and life activities.
I do not have absolute control of this but I hope and have strategies about how I can achieve certain things ( my own goals), the food we eat and prepare, health/fitness/ work/ relationship goals, running of routine basic necessities, creative projects, and entertainment.
If it were not for the hope of waking up, I would not strategize and prepare for these things as I would leave it and live day to day expecting it to genuinely be my last ( why bother?).
Understanding hope as a strategy ( from the perspective of Dr.Randy Ross), I have the power to intentionally and strategically use hope ( the components= formula provided) day to day, even when things drastically change from one moment to the next, this awareness and the hope formula now becomes a tool I actively utilize in navigating, calmly forward.
