A magical combination of ancient Indian rites and Irish tradition with a whole heap of evil thrown in make this book a wonderful read for a younger audience. The reader is rooting for the very likeable Conor, and horrified by Dr Drake and his dabbling in genetic codes that could be dangerous for everyone.

Roan: The Tales of Conor Archer by E.R. Barr is a fiction-based book. It's the story of a boy in a fictional world that incorporates Celtic and Native American mythology with Catholic beliefs. After sampling the book I see some well-described pictures related to the story that interest me. congrats on BOTD!!

The book combines the otherworldly with the mundane. The themes of identity and heritage are reinforced by references to mythological creatures and folklore, which is something that the younger generation should explore more and learn about.

"Roan" by E.R Barr seems to be a story with a lot of twists and turns. From the story of how Conor met a lady who foretold his future, to the escape of Walters from the hands of the deadly demo. I will consider reading.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting fantasy story about a teen whose family moves to a rural town Wisconsin, but he finds out that this town has a mystery that combines Christianity, Celtic myths and Native American folklore. It seems like it might be worth a second look. Well done.

I’m very excited to read this book. Roan seems like an epic fantasy with a touch of darkness from reading the sample on Amazon. Barr's writing seems to be immersive, pulling you deep into this richly imagined realm.

Thank you for detailed review. Fantasy books are always captivating but this one seems to be an interesting and fantastic to read. It a good discussion on how one can gain strength even after going through challenges in life, finding identity and living a life with confidence of who you are.

Roan: The Tales of Conor Archer by E.R. Barr gives a thrilling recount of how the village of Tinker's Grove in Wisconsin City became path of Good versus Evil. The tale is presented from the perspective of Conor Archer, who by outrunning an unnamed estuarian monster (nasuta) called Piasa and eventually figures out that his belongings are on the streets of Chicago. Conor ought to face some challenges and he reveals to be the son of Madoc, a mound dweller who has quite magical capabilities. The intention with the evil being winning is what makes him go along with his quest to overcome it to maintain his humanity. Barr's worldbuilding is very intense and mysterious,; he revealed new characters entirely ranging from friends like Dr.Nicholas Drake and Caithness McNabb to enemies. The third central character is Dr. Drake, a genetic researcher at DIOGENE Tinker, who is responsible for the giant monster-Piasa. Dr. Drake reveals that he has been researching about beings known as "dark ones" which might very well be Conor and his family's downfall. The book has many flaws, but their story is still moving and well written allowing readers to present them faces and feel the community vibe at the same time. The audiobook performances of narrator Alan Ross are a step above the other audiobook narrations in my library. His ability to do different accents and sing amazingly makes the story sound truly alive.

Shamans —in real life and in books— are a fascinating subject. And I love a good villain. Honestly, things turn so much more interesting when the author constructs a great antagonist.
Thank you for your fantastic review.
