The main manuscript, yes. But I always have paper & pen with me, because they're still more convenient and reliable than whatever personal electronic device may be available. So if I have a thought, or suddenly realize how to work out a particular scene, I'll jot down a note or even write out a scene & transfer it later.

At some point, after a few rounds of revisions, I find it helps to print out the whole darn thing and then read through it & make notes on a paper copy - I just see issues/errors better that way, somehow - and then return to key them in on the computer. I think we'll never get to the 'paperless' office!

These days, I do the bulk of my writing on my Google Nexus 7 Tablet. I only use my laptop to transfer my raw work over to Scrivener where I polish it up and organize it into a cogent narrative.

While I do the bulk of my writing on the computer I often find that writing with a pen and paper is more relaxing. It helps to clear my head and get my words out a little more smoothly when I am having difficulty on the computer. I'm not sure if it's just more comfortable or if the slower process just helps to order my thoughts. It just works for me lol

Another thing I do is keep journals which I write in the perspective of my characters. Like they themselves are writing about their days or experiences. It helps me to get a deeper feel for the character.

Handwritten. I'm the only one who has to know what it says. I create faster then i can type, and I lose some ideas in the process. I like being able to interrupt myself with an asterisk and plug in some completely random thing to fill in my background, and then jump back in where I left off.

I get distracted writing on anything electrical. Good ole pen and paper- preferably somewhere outside if weather permits.

I write mainly on my laptop nowadays, but my pc, ipad and phone all play their part sometimes, so does a pen and paper. I love to sit and write on paper and have several bags filled with notepads with ideas and stories in, I use this method mainly when on buses or sat outside in warmer months.

I actually really hate sitting at the computer and writing. The screen, I find, is always so menacing. I find it more therapeutic and less pressing if I carry around a notebook and jot down a few ideas. If I'm writing with purpose and need to get the words precisely right, I'll write my initial thought or statement. Then I will write it again. Then only write the key words, so 2-5 words in the phrase, and just play around with the filler words until the sentence resonates. It's absolutely insane, but I find that if I'm evenly slightly dissatisfied with my words now, It'll eat away at me.

Yes, I first write by hand to compose my thoughts
Then I type it into my computer by then I know what I want to write amd it all flows onto the page.

No i keep a pad of paper with me in case an idea pops into my head so that way I can write it on the computer later.

I am a paper pusher I love and own many notebooks markers stationary sets the works. I love the crinkling of a full written page and smell of them lol. I do sometimes when I'm in a creative mode I write in my computer I guess mostly for the security of my work. I used to work doing data entry so I type at a pretty fast rate with no errors. But nothing beats the sound your writing object makes on it's platform. And the perfect indentation it leaves.

The only time I don't is when I'm away from my computer. I used to love filling up pages of a spiral bound notebook, but I love that I can copy/paste, redo/undo, and easily find everything in a document. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and writing on paper results in erasing a thousand times. I like the ease of a computer.

I usually write on the computer, but I'm currently working on a long poem (like 400-lines-so-far-and-still-not-done long...) and I've been doing that in a little notebook.
