Unicorns Know Magic by Charles Adkins is a sweet adventure book for children. There is a family of unicorns who move next door. The little boy is telling the story and talking about the adventures he and his sister go on with Abby, Chase, Bitsy, and Georgia. They get to watch the unicorns perform all of their magic, including singing, flying, juggling balls, roller skating, and standing on their heads. The kids get to join them on their adventures and fly to London and France. When they are in London, the people there say that they have never met a unicorn before, and they get to meet the queen. Once they are back home, they all go to school. The unicorns are smart and clever. The unicorns’ only flaw is that they are not very polite when they are eating. The kids love this because it makes them look good. The adventures that they go on are one of a kind, and the accompanying pictures are wonderful to look at. They are bright and have an abstract feel to the backgrounds. The colors and story are a delight for kids to read and are so fun to bring out even more of their creativity and imagination.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 rating. There is simply nothing in this book that I did not like. It is a sweet story where kids get to be creative with unicorns as their friends. The pictures are great to look at and accompany the story well. The storyline is fun for children to see some magic and excitement from what are normal happenings, as well as magical things. The book is short, but it does not feel too short. It is a happy book that helps children see more magic and possibilities for the future. I read it to my children, who are five and seven, and they loved it! The colors attracted them, and the storyline kept them hooked. They loved that the unicorns lived in an eight-story home and that they could fly.

I recommend this book to parents and gift-givers. This book is beautiful and magical in all ways. Young children, up to about 9 years old, will love this book. I feel that older kids might like it as well because of the creativity, but I think it will appeal to the younger children the most. If you want a little magic and color in your day, this is the book for you and your kids!
