Finding my Wings shines light on the beautiful possibilities that lay in wait for us as individuals and as a race if only we were to let go of the stranglehold of certain debilitating forces.

I pike it that Sandra has addressed various issues in her poems, making this book a suitable text for contemporary readers. Thank you for the wonderful review.

This sounds like an inviting read, for immersing in poetry and for a light reflection on things that need to be "unrung" and how we can maybe help with the cause in our ways that we can. Kudos to a well written review, too!

Sadly, I have to admit that I never like reading poetry, because even if it is written in my native language, I often simply don't understand and am easily lost in all those rhythms, rhymes and other such things. It's even more difficult with the second language, therefore I am afraid that I will have to pass this book. Still, congrats on BOTD!

Poetry is such a brilliant medium to address social and personal issues. The brevity of poems makes whatever message they carry all the more memorable and effective, especially when the style is uncomplicated. The author, Sandra Leon-Gonzalez, did a great job with her collection.

“Finding My Wings” by Sandra Leon-Gonzalez is a 3-section poetry collection that addresses personal and societal issues. Poems covered major societal issues like gun violence, suppression of free speech, violence against woman, environmental problems and racial discrimination. These issues have been ongoing for far too long and need to be resolved to save humanity. The pictures between poem groupings throughout the book added to the messages expressed in the poems. The book is perfect for readers that love poetry, and the table of contents will enable other readers to select the poems they want to read. A very good review of a book that I have added to my to-read list.

Finding My Wings" by Sandra Leon-Gonzalez is a masterful exploration of the human experience, artfully weaving together themes of personal growth and societal struggle. I found myself deeply moved by the poem "The Narrative" in the section "What It Is to Live and Love." Its poignant reflection on social injustice stirred within me a renewed sense of empathy and determination to enact change. Congrats on the BOTD.

Sandra Leon-Gonzalez's poetry collection "Finding My Wings" is a testament to the power of language to inspire and uplift. In "What It Is to Persevere," the poem "In Perfect Focus" captured my attention with its raw honesty and introspection.
