Anyone read this thriller that predicted our future?

Post by DebraJ »

So, I am curious if anyone else has read Discipline by Paco Ahlgren. The first page is a nail biter, and this continues until the final page. This book is so well written, and it takes your mind on a psychological roller coaster. Then a little over halfway through, I realize that this author is talking about things IN THE BOOK that are happening TODAY. Keep in mind that this book was written over 5 years ago. And the things he's predicting are not just mere coincidences. It has to do with how our world is working today and the economical turmoil that we're experiencing -- how our world is falling apart right in front of our very eyes.

I would love to hear other opinions on this book. My boyfriend is reading it now, but he's slow as syrup so hopefully I can get a conversation going about this. Am I crazy or what? There's also some speculation going on around this author, aside from the book. He seems to be a bit on the controversial side too, which is interesting to say in the least...

Thoughts? Would love to hear them...

I must admit, when I read the premise for this book I was skeptical that I would make it past the first page. Taoism and Quantum Physics are two subjects that I know nothing about and, one would think, takes a sharp mind to understand.

I did in fact pick the book up, read the first page and was amazed how 'reader friendly' it was. It's written in first person and you feel an immediate connection with the lead character and that makes you want to see this book through to the bitter and jaw dropping end... And believe me, it does have an ending that will take your breath away.

I agree. But do you think it pertains to what is happening in the world today? Specifically, our currency situation?
