From the review, "The Three Card Trick" by Charles Townsend, tells the story of Dolphin who inherited all of the wizard Porlock's, "the magician" equipment including the magic stone.

A not so young adult liking magic and adventure will surely also like this book. I did not read the first book, with the descriptions of the characters in this second book, I understand it can be read as a stand-alone.

I love stories of magic and adventure. Delvin must use his magic to bring peace to two cities. How will he do this? It takes more than magic to solve such problems. I will read this book that is well-penned with interesting characters to discover Delvin's magic. Great review! :tiphat:

Thank you for your insightful review!

"The Three Card Trick" by Charles Townsend seems like an exhilarating adventure sequel that surpasses expectations. Delvin appears to inherit magical artifacts, including a stone granting mind control, leading him into a high-stakes battle for two cities.

It seems that Townsend skillfully fleshes out characters and delivers gripping action. The addition of new characters like Nippy seemingly add depth to the narrative.

Nice review!

Congrats on BOTD!
Townsend's story "The Three Card Trick" illustrates how fate and free will coexist in life. Our own desire for power is similar to Delvin's trip with a mystical stone. However, the real power of kindness is revealed when individuals like Nippy provide a helping hand without anticipating anything in return.

The Three Card Trick by Charles Townsend continues Delvin's magical journey, building beautifully on the first book. The introduction of new characters, like Nippy, adds fresh dynamics, while the deepened descriptions enhance our connection to the story. It's a joy to see how well Townsend weaves action and adventure into a narrative that can stand alone yet builds on its predecessor.

"The Three Card Trick" sounds amazing, just like the first book. It is a wonderful continuation of the first book; it is adventurous, and this time Delvin has to put magic stone to use to save Princess Jarla's life and bring back peace to cities captured by magicians. Great review.

I'm pleased to discover that the second installment in the "Illusions of Power" series lived up to expectations and maintained the same level of quality as its predecessor, "The Magician's Secret."
