Eight different characters driven to and from the golf course are having the time of their lives. You know how excited children get to go to an excursion , I think this would have been the case with me too had I recieved such an invite. From the 20 year old driver called lefty with his CDL to Nellie who has little experience in driving the bus but volunteered. An entire recipe for a disaster was waiting to happen. They did not get to any destination without scratching at least two cars. Rookie drivers are always the best .
The relationship between these men grows to one of a family of strange characters and that does not seem to bother them . They are so carefree and optimistic and non of them as I read are afraid of consequence or even death. They must have been really older maybe around their 40s.
The well written book envelopes a life of carefree men travelling and enjoying themselves throughout the book. They have little commitments as they chase from golf course to golf course. I was worried when I saw the title. As someone who has never played golf before I assumed the jargon would confuse me but that's not the case. It would have been so much better had we known the individuals personally their backgrounds and family members. That makes our imaginations easier to decorate.
The characters were the ones driving the plot and I loved that. The book cover looks amazing, automatically this would have been a book I would have grabbed off the shelf. The jargon was easy to understand and the tone was so light hearted. 5 out of 5 rating from me. It is one of those books you can't wait to finish but once you do, you wish you had not.
