The book “The Magic Lantern” by Charles Townsend is a continuation of the first and second parts of the story of Dolphin and his struggle with the witches. Good review :techie-studyingbrown:

The third part of this series sounds really interesting seeing as there are many unanswered questions that the reader needs to find out by reading this book, and the important message one can learn about never giving up on your goals makes it a worthwhile read.

After Borlock was murdered, his student, Delvin, inherited not only his magic skills but also his obligations. I have read the first book in the series and am confident that this next installment, with added responsibilities as knights Argent and Hengel, and Jarla and Nippy, will be just as interesting. Congrats on BOTD!

It's reassuring to read that Townsend has maintained a strong grip on pacing and storytelling flow even three books in. I hope to read this soon also.

I'm grateful that the author has given away all three books in this series. Having finished the first one, I'm really looking forward to the next two sequels. I'm glad that Grimbolt, my favorite character, still stays in these later parts. However, I do agree with the sentiment that the author tends to focus excessively on Delvin; it was a similar case in Part 1.

There is a well-researched description of the provinces of Hengel and its neighboring duchies, including some details that make the fairyland more credible. Specifying about the details of magician systems and the history of them immerses the reader in the manuscript.

This review is helpful and is ensuring old fans to continue reading the book or not, it is their choice. In my opinion, I like when every book is a piece of its own and I can read one book but skip another. What to say about writing more about main character than his sidekicks? If the main character or magician in this case is a jewel and has it all, of course i want to know about him. Side characters will come and go, which depends of the author and their vision. Overall, magical world, particularly this one sounds intriguing and makes me want to read the book or any book from this series.

Thank you for sharing your detailed and thoughtful review of "The Magic Lantern" by Charles Townsend. Your thorough insights on the pacing, character development, and overall storyline provide a great overview of what readers can expect from the book. It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the smooth flow of the story and appreciated the focus on Delvin's growth as a magician. Your observation about the slight lack of exploration of other characters is noted, but it's great to know that it didn't detract from your enjoyment of the main plot.

The message of perseverance and not giving up on one's goals is indeed an important takeaway from the story, and your recommendation for young adult fantasy/adventure fans to give this book a read is valuable. Your 5-star rating and positive feedback on the editing quality add credibility to your review. Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on "The Magic Lantern"!

The first and second books of the series were amazing, and this third book, "The Magic Lantern," sounds like a fantastic continuation of the series. Charles Townsend is good at crafting magical adventure stories. The magicians seemed to be powerful this time, but I hope Delvin manages to win over them. I have obtained a free copy of the book. Thanks author!

Great review! As I’ve stated concerning another book in this series, it's cool to see a character type that is commonly on the sidelines (i.e magicians) be at the center of a compelling story.
The book opens with a summary of books 1 and 2, which, in my opinion, is a great idea because it allows those who haven’t read the previous books to be able to read this one on its own
.
You have to love when opportunities are taken to make books in a series also successfully standalone individually.

Thank you for your informative review!

"The Magic Lantern" by Charles Townsend sounds like an enthralling continuation of Delvin's journey against the persistent magicians. The seamless pacing and focus on character growth make it a captivating read.

While the spotlight on Delvin may overshadow other characters, the theme of perseverance shines through, making it a compelling tale for young adult fantasy enthusiasts.

Thanks for the detailed review; it's grown my interest in the series!

I love stories about magicians, and in this one Delvin keeps fighting the evil ones. Will he succeed? For me, my takeaway is never to give up despite the challenges and setbacks.
