The way how the author went from living a healthy life to having encounters with the PCAs over drug abuse is a life teaching lesson

Getting good long-term caregivers for people living with disability is often a challenging task in normal times. I can imagine how much more difficult it would have been during the opioid crisis. Well done to the author for standing up for herself against bullies.

I like that the author narrates her experience with various PCAs and how their help impacted her life. It is shocking that she went from a healthy individual to severe muscle atrophy. That must've taken a toll on her mental wellbeing. The book will be a great resource to caregivers of handicapped individuals.

It's sad to know about the author's experience with Muscle Dystrophy. I would be interested to know what caused it and how she coped. Thanks for the review.

Non fiction narration of a challenged person and her sojourn through the opioid epidemic with different and variously abled care givers. Helpers Anonymous: A Disabled Woman's Experiences with Home Care During the Opioid Epidemic by Jeanne Tiberio seemed like juicy gossip wrote the reviewer and they really liked the stories.

Helpers Anonymous by Jeanne Tiberio (narrated by Ashley Gatti) surprised me in the best possible way. Started reading it without knowing what to expect, but it has left me quite intrigued. It is honest, unapologetic and overall provides a window into the life and experiences of the author with the people around her.

This is the journey of a very special and strong woman who’s trying to navigate the world as a disabled person during the opioid epidemic. Sounds like an inspiring read! I love that despite everything she is an extremely strong woman who doesn’t let anyone bully her, thanks for pointing that out in your review!!

Not everyone will indeed treat you the same and thus is also common with personal care attendants. If you're stuck in a wheelchair, you definitely need hell and I haven't really taken care of anyone in that situation. Reading this book will however give me insights into what people in wheelchairs experience

I believe it is we who allow how good or bad people treat us. People take the silence of a disabled person as a green flag to behave however they like. "Helpers Anonymous" can be a motivation to all those people who need to speak up for their right to live as others Congratulations on BOTD!
