The book takes a different look at war by examining it through the eyes of women. Various vignettes highlight the mindset and actions of individuals in an area affected by political, cultural, and territorial strife.

Terrorist funding from Pakistan and the ISI destabilized Kashmir, particularly in the 1980s and 1990s, leading to the killing of Kashmiri Pandits, the rape of their mothers, sisters, and daughters, and the forced displacement of almost five hundred thousand Pandits. Slogans from mosques incited violence against Hindus, urging them to leave Kashmir or face death. However, the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, has brought peace and progress to the region.
Life is a play where we are the actors and the audience, We laugh and cry, love and hate, create and destroy,
We seek to know ourselves and others, to belong and to be free, We accept what we can and change what we must.

The foreword appears to express a one-sided stance. The abrogation of Article 370 in 2019 has been a blessing for Kashmiris, particularly women and misdirected youth. The United States' decision to discontinue funding Pakistan is not without justification. Nonetheless, congratulations on the BOTD.

Can't say that I am very interested in the troubles the region of Kashmir faces, but there is a certain appeal to the book that makes it hard to say a definite "no". I really like that it is not based on fiction, but on verified facts and reading the book will provide straight information. Congratulations with BOTD!
