The comic novel "The Dark Side of Food" is written by Harleen and Andrew. It tells the story of a billionaire, Dr. Baldr Johannsen, who investigates Aurora Borealis and discovers something quite peculiar about it. Five students, recruited by Dr. Baldr Johannsen, perceive a connection between the product Sol-ace and the research he is conducting. The five students hope to discover a connection between Sol-ace and Aurora, the malicious organisation that is attempting to steal his artificial intelligence, known as RUDI.

This science fiction novel takes situations that we face on a daily basis and turns them into a story. We encounter daily situations such as blindly following influencers on social media platforms, potentially harmful diet products, obesity, addiction, and addiction-induced violence. Furthermore, the authors provide a great deal of material at the end of the book to assist the reader in leading a healthier life and educate them on the various systems in the human body.

The author did a wonderful job of incorporating the topics that I stated before into the narrative in a way that seemed natural, and by the time the book was over, everything was perfectly in place. Because this is not a standalone novel, the plot did leave me with a few questions, but they were just the right number to make me want to read the next book in the series. Even with numerous individuals conversing on a single page, the flawless pictures made it easy to follow the comic strip-styled conversations.

I give this book a perfect score of five out of five stars because there is nothing about it that I dislike. I was blown away by the authors' ability to set up the plot, which was executed to perfection. The book came to a satisfying conclusion that left me wanting more. The presentation of both the graphics and the dialogue is excellent. Upon identifying no errors, I concur that the editing of this book is flawless.

As a result of the violence, addiction, and other topics that are depicted in this book, I would recommend it to readers who are at least 18 years old and who appreciate reading science fiction-like books that are portrayed in the form of comic books.

Based on the review provided, "The Dark Side of Food" seems like a fascinating and engaging read. The book successfully blends daily life situations with science fiction elements, tackling important topics like social media influence, diet products, obesity, addiction, and violence. The incorporation of educational material at the end is a bonus for readers. The plot leaves some unanswered questions, but it adds anticipation for the next book in the series. The comic strip-style format with flawless graphics makes it easy to follow the story. Overall, it appears to be a highly enjoyable book, particularly for readers who appreciate science fiction portrayed in a comic format.

Comic novels is new to me, I look forward to reading this book because of the topics addressed. I have very strong feelings about influencers and the messages they send to the world about promoting bad habits and potentially harmful products. If the first book is as good as the review promises, I will for sure also want to read the next books.

The title makes you think the book is about food, but it looks like the plot has the aurora borealis and other sci-fi stuff. Not sure how it relates to food.

Interesting comic book and informative review as well, I like the idea of a story focused on food and it's issues. From a quick look at the sample, I found the start to be very busy text wise, not particularly a fan of the art style.

That's a fascinating twist. The title The Dark Side of Food suggests a non-fiction book about the food industry, sustainability, or health. However, incorporating sci-fi elements like the aurora borealis hints at a more complex and unexpected narrative.

Great review! Honestly, when I initially saw the title, I thought this may have content in the same vein as documentaries like What the Health? and Food Inc. So, I was a bit caught off guard seeing the cover and finding out this was a sci-fi story in the form of a graphic novel! Yet, it appears some of the information those documentaries present does have a place in this book. So, I guess I wasn’t totally off-base lol.

"The Dark Side of Food" brings some important questions to light. Are we being blindly led by social media? Are we questions the information that we read on the internet? Do we trust blindly without any thought about what is real and what is not? Very nice review.
