JK Rowling was probably the first because the books were coming out as I was growing up, and my mom read them aloud to me. Lemony Snicket was another one I read everything by, but I can't remember which series I finished first.

James Herriot was the first author whose entire collection I read everything by on my own, though. Herriot's stories have been re-published in various collections based on cat stories, dog stories, children's stories, etc., but I think I've read all of them in one form or another just by reading his original publications. His son's book about Herriot's life was also amazing.

My kudos to you if you've read everything by Debbie Macomber. She is quite a prolific author. Good job!

I've always enjoyed books since I was a little girl, I was a hooked on phonics kid back in the 80's and so books have become my best friends.
I stopped getting caught up in books at about 15 and I can't remember being in a constant need to read for many years after.
However, when Stephanie Meyer's Twilight was released I fell in love with reading again. It was a wave of non-stop excitement and release, hope and longing, sadness and love and a mix of other emotions ALL THE TIME. The waiting for the book to end to run out and buy the next one, without really wanting the book you're reading to actually end. Then the movies waiting to see the next film.

Stephanie Meyer brought me back to the place I remembered as a child.
I couldn't wait to go shopping with my mom at the end of the week, just to go to the book section of Wal-mart and Sams, to get my NEXT book to read.

Thank you Stephanie Meyer for restoring a long lost past time!

When i was a pre-teen and into my late teens I loved R.L. Stine. I began reading the goosebump books and devoured them. My mom started buying me the bigger books in order to slow me down and as a last ditch effort to save money on books got me a library card and took me once a week. I think I have read 50 of his books which isn't saying much because he has over 100 of the goosebump books now.

My Dad introduced my brother and I to C.S. Lewis by reading The Chronicles of Narnia at bedtime. We read through all of them and I was hooked! It was quite a while before I was old enough to understand some of his other writings but another favorite of mine is Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. I also plowed through R.L. Stine books as a preteen. Mary Higgans Clark was another favorite!

JK Rowling. I haven't read the books she has written under a different name but my dad started reading me Harry Potter as bedtime stories and by the time the fifth book came out I was reading them on my own, counting down the days till the next one came out.

I read everything by Nora Roberts. I found her when I was pregnant with my first child and just can't seem to get enough. Her J.D. Robb series is great and I've even gotten friends reading her. I mark my calendar so I know when her next book is coming out.
