Am not really a fan of horror but it takes a very creative mind to paint scenarios in writing. Commendable effort by the Author. Lovers of horror will appreciate and go for this piece of literary work.

Nice review! I’ve never been big on horror, but thrillers can be very intriguing since there are so many ways you can go with them, storytelling and theme-wise. The descriptions of the stories in this book kind of give me Twilight Zone vibes, which I have indulged and enjoyed in the past. So, depending on just how scary and deep this book goes into the “gory details” so to speak, I may or may not be able to handle reading this.

"The Haunting of Towne Point Mall" by Jason Fischer is a captivating horror anthology centered around a sinister mall. The book skillfully intertwines ten tales over four decades, each revealing a new facet of the mall's malevolent nature. While the stories are diverse, ranging from a haunted bookstore to a cursed film, they all maintain a consistent thread of suspense and intrigue. The book's creative storytelling has drawn comparisons to renowned authors like Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft. However, some stories may not resonate as strongly as others. Overall, it's a recommended read for those who enjoy psychological horror.

Thanks for this detailed review! It sounds like Jason Fischer has crafted a really intriguing collection with "The Haunting of Towne Point Mall." I love the idea of interconnected horror stories centered around an eerie mall. Your description of "The Birth" and "Fan's Fiction" especially caught my attention. I appreciate knowing that the pacing and character development are strong, which is crucial in short stories. Even though "Tangled Web" seems a bit weaker, it doesn’t seem to detract much from the overall experience. Your mention of clever references and Easter eggs between stories has me even more excited to dive in. I’m definitely adding this to my reading list!

Jason Fischer's, "The Haunting of Towne Point Mall" is a fictional collection comprising ten interconnected horror short stories. There is a lot to like about this book. Each story was told intriguingly. The author did well in using creative plot points like Chad's skin condition and the digital possession by Barbara's spirit in "The Game of Love." I also liked the way the author weaved the Mall into the stories and left clever references to the other stories, like Easter eggs. The pacing and length of each story were good, as they never dragged at all. Overall, I enjoyed your thorough review and decided to put this interesting read on my shelf. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

I enjoy the plot of the novel. And how it explains the turn out of events. I enjoy reading horror novels the same way I enjoy watching horror movies. The author did a great job writing this. I had a nice time reading the novel. The sudden turnout of events where Nancy died, and her son stood there and watch her die is unexpected and thrilling.

Thank you for this wonderful novel.

There is a lot to like about this book. Each story was told intriguingly. [...] The author captured my interest in each character, even within the frame of a short story. [...] My favorite story was "Fan's Fiction." The concept behind it was very unique, and I did not expect Steven to make the decision he did at the end.
I enjoyed reading your review! I read "The Birth", the first story, and I was riveted because my interest was captured too by each character and the story was told intriguingly. I look forward to discovering the unique concept and the unexpected Steven's decision in your favourite story "Fan's Fiction".

Jason Fischer’s The Haunting of Towne Point Mall is a captivating book that weaves together ten interconnected horror stories. The eerie tales are all set in a creepy mall called Towne Point Mall, which has been plagued by mysterious happenings since its opening in 1978. As the mall ages, it grows stronger from an evil force residing within its walls. Let me take you on a brief journey through some of the spine-chilling stories within this collection:

The Haunted Bookstore: Imagine a bookstore where the spirits linger, and the books themselves hold secrets.
1. Desires Unleashed: A department store that grants your deepest desires—but at a sinister cost.
2. The Hungry Escalator: An escalator with an insatiable appetite for unsuspecting shoppers.
3. Death’s Closet: A janitor’s closet where death itself resides.
4. Bargains and Curses: A clothing store that offers more than fashionable attire.
5. Cursed Premiere: A theater that screens a film with a deadly curse.
6. The Deranged Juggler: A performer whose juggling act takes a dark turn.
7. Time-Bridging Games: Video games that defy time and reality.
8. The Spider Child: A chilling transformation from child to arachnid.
9. Elves’ Score: Vengeful elves seeking retribution.
These stories are all connected by a malevolent entity, and Fischer’s writing skillfully blends suspenseful plots with engaging characters.
If you’re a fan of psychological horror, this book is a must-read!

I enjoyed your review. I am not a fan of horror or scary stories or movies. This does sound like a good book for those who are invested in that genre.

I think it’s a compelling collection for horror enthusiasts. The interconnected stories and eerie mall setting create an immersive experience. "Fan's Fiction" was a standout for me, too, with its unexpected twist and unique concept.

Jason Fischer's The Haunting of Towne Point Mall is a first for me. I have not seen a collection of short horror stories before. Despite not being a fan of the horror genre, I'd read this book to see how this idea was developed. Congratulations on BOTD.
