In Christendom today, there seem to be negative forces from the government that seem to influence the doctrine or the flow of the Church of God. We were asked in the Bible to obey every authority. The government is an author. What happens when the government does something in contradiction to what God has said? Slaying The Dragon by Steve Forkin is an intriguing book that defines these authorities using different sources to authenticate the points. 

This book began with the definition of some key words that were used at different points in the book, so to avoid misconceptions, the author had to define these terms. Romans 13 was a very pivotal passage of the Bible, which was written by Paul. From this passage and other passages of the Bible, the author was able to determine how believers should respond to government. We saw a story of when Mattathias, priest of Levi, spoke out publicly against a terror king, Antiochus, when the Jews were commanded to embrace his religion. It was beyond just speaking publicly; Mattathias also took other actions. Authority in Christendom is a broad topic, and this book would open you to a lot of truth that would help you respond to the government properly. Grab a copy for more insights. 

Today, lots of teachings are springing up in the church, which has changed a lot of things while neglecting the written word of God. I am grateful to have bumped into such a book. Books like this make it difficult for anyone to brainwash us with something that is different from the truth because this book contains proven and written facts, especially from the Bible and events that happened years ago. In this book, we have seen how to be able to respond to governments that have come to the place of God, the supreme authority. The tone of this book was a serious one, and I really enjoyed it. Also, the information in this book isn’t just picked from anywhere; the author provided the sources of his information, which enhanced further reading into the subject being discussed. 

A book like this with some historical stories would make more sense if there were pictures attached, which would make it more appealing to anyone who came across it. I encountered only one error while reading, which didn’t affect my reading. These are the things that could be looked into. 

There are no tangible reasons for me to deduct any stars from this book. Hence, following the amazing nature of this book, I would rate it five out of five stars. The book was carefully edited, and I would recommend it to theologians and Christians.
