Have you ever wondered why we have not yet found a cure for cancer, after billions of dollars have been donated and spent on research? Have you lived through the suffering of a loved one who was treated for cancer, but succumbed to the eventual spread of the disease, after waging a courageous battle fuelled with the will to live? Does it make you feel uneasy that you may eventually become afflicted with cancer? I can tell you that I answered "yes" to all three of the above questions.

Sylvie Beljanski, the author of Winning the War on Cancer: The Epic Journey Towards a Natural Cure, sheds light on the question as to why we have not yet found a cure for cancer. She also gives hope and alternatives to those who are already receiving treatment for cancer or are simply seeking knowledge about cancer, its treatment protocols, and its groundbreaking research.

Sylvie grew up in France with her parents, Mirko and Monique Beljanski. Mirko Beljanski, PhD was a biologist-biochemist and Monique Beljanski was a research engineer. They both worked for the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France. Mirko developed natural molecules which had the ability to stop cancerous cells from multiplying without damaging healthy cells. These molecules came from the plant extracts known as Pao pereira and Rauwolfa vomitoria. Pao pereira is an Amazon tree bark extract. Rauwolfa vomitoria is an African tree root extract. Mirko's research accumulated scientific evidence with 133 peer-reviewed publications. However, his findings were met with resistance from the conventional oncology community. This did not stop some doctors from seeing the merits of his findings. Beneficial results were experienced by their patients who suffered with various cancers and other serious diseases. As word spread, many people started knocking on Mirko Beljanski's door to plead for help.

Sylvie, who was a practicing lawyer in the United States, received a call from her mother stating that Mirko had been arrested for endangering public safety, that his lab had been shut down, and that his research documents were confiscated by the government. Sylvie, in her capacity as a lawyer, decided to defend her father against the French government. She also decided to learn about his research and promote it. In the course of doing this she met many people who were touched by her father's research. Included in this group were doctors, their patients, and scientists. In this book, Sylvie recounts the story of her father's breakthrough scientific research on Pao pereira and Rauwolfa vomitoria, as it was told to her by the doctors, patients and scientists who knew her father.

From the above accounts, you will gain a complete understanding of cancer, its conventional treatments, the toxicity of the treatments, and how Mirko Beljanski's plant extracts can counter this toxicity thereby complementing, in a positive way, the conventional treatments. This is all explained in both technical and layman's language. I really enjoyed reading about the adventures and struggles Sylvie encountered in her journey to continue her deceased father's legacy. I also learned a lot about cancer, its research, and its treatments. I was filled with hope and joy by the time I finished reading this book. This book was very well narrated by the author. It was also professionally edited. I did not come across anything that I disliked in this book. The story kept me engaged and interested. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.

What a wonderful review! I've read this book as well, and I truly appreciate the author for her bravery and her father for bringing forward a possible natural cure for cancer. I hope more people become aware of conventional treatments. I appreciate how you've highlighted all of these points in your review!

The questions you asked really sparked my interest in the book. I think now that the book answers many of our unsolved questions, it is worth a read. I would love to know more about the nature of Cancer and how we can find solutions to it. Your review is amazing and I enjoyed it. Thanks alot!

Gerry, what a timely review - I have a friend who is currently fighting the fight "again" and it's heartbreaking to watch. I can't help but be drawn toward this reading for that reason. I remember watching a documentary years ago (I can't remember the name of it) that revealed how the healthcare industry, in particular, had no real incentive to find a cure. This was eye-opening for me at the time. I had a co-worker, just a few years ago, successfully treat his cancer. He is still worried it will come back. I could relate with your feelings of "hope and joy" after reading this book - it sounds like it must have made quite an impact for you. Thank you so much for sharing this book and review with us, I have a feeling it could be just what the doctor ordered! Well-done, until next time...

Cara, thank you for your comments. Yes, I believe we all know someone who is suffering from this affliction, and even worse, has died from it after a long battle. This book claims to have inside knowledge of two natural remedies that can alleviate some of the worst side effects of conventional therapies( without replacing them). In other words, people should know this. If I get sick, I will definitely ask my doctor to look into the merit of these remedies.

Gerry, I've seen a lot of different sources talk about natural remedies - it always sounds so conspiratorial...that big pharma and even governments would actively try and discredit or burry these sources. I think understanding how these large institutions work, should open the eyes of the public and raise greater awareness of helpful rememdies. It's sad that your health can be directly tied to your wealth, or lack thereof. Until next time...

Cancer is something that kills us from within. We need more solutions to the problem and more research done on these rather than just them just being called conspiracy theories. It can save a lot of human lives. I hope they do, I really hope they do. A very well written review and best wishes to the author for future projects.

While I largely have hope that a proper cure for cancer would not be sabotaged, I also know that people can do horrible things in the name of profit. This might be one of those stories that shows the dark side of humanity.

The word cancer itself scares people, because it makes you feel the taste of endpoint! However they try to construct the idea's, it feels emotional, powerless moment. It's good that, this book works on hope for people.

I answered yes to all 3 questions too. My mum had breast cancer and my best friend has recently gone into remission for Non-Hodgkins lymphoma. This book might be just what I need further understand what they're going through.

This book examines current issues related to healthcare practices. It discusses alternative medicines that have demonstrated efficacy but may be overlooked by influential entities such as the government, media, insurance companies, and pharmaceutical companies, as well as by the contemporary marketing of fear.
I've read this book. I personally feel integrating holistic approaches with modern medicine may benefit patients and their families during challenging times. Great review Gerry.

Thank you for this insightful review Gerry. It’s quite interesting how Sylvie Beljanski’s father discovered an alternative way to treat cancer but the government confiscated his research. What’s with the today’s governments? Her insights into the limitations of conventional therapies and the potential of plant-based solutions provide valuable hope for patients seeking additional options in their cancer journey. It’s thrilling to read that the author took the initiative to learn more about her father’s research and promote it. Mirko Beljanski’s innovative approach underscores the importance of integrating scientific research with alternative treatments in the fight against cancer. Sylvie Beljanski’s narrative not only educates readers about cancer but also inspires those affected by it to explore diverse treatment avenues grounded in scientific inquiry. This is a must read for me.
