Review of Reconfigurement
I have just finished reading Reconfigurement written by E Alan Fleischauer. The book is about every facet of planning ahead for your retirement before turning 50. The author's research is excellent. He has very high standards and because of personal experience in various businesses, projects and ongoing training, he is an expert in global finance.
He discusses budgets, insurance, investment choices, health and long-term care, as well as wills and trusts. He published links in the book that you can follow up on. He completed and checked out all the assessments and links and gave feedback on what he found, and which were the better ones that one can follow up on.
He asks the question of whether you want an active or quiet life when you retire because this will influence your decisions on whether you are going to sit at home reading a book, want to travel the world or find a new job. If you are going to start a new business or a part-time endeavor or want to help others, he provides links and a list of books to read to assist you in making well-planned decisions.
The fact that he encourages you to change your job if you don’t like it, is very relevant. He provides a lot of material that you can use in his chapter on career testing.
I am not from the United States, and we do not have the same retirement plans here in South Africa, but the principles stay the same and are very valuable to use as a basis for your own research in your country of residence. The book is easy to read and sprinkled with humor.
An important point he makes is that one should remember to have fun in life while you can and not wait for your retirement when you may be too old to enjoy it.
I did not find any spelling errors, profanities or inappropriate sexual wording.
The book is superbly written with well-defined research that is available to everyone to use for their benefit, therefore I am giving the book a rating of 5 out of 5.
