The War on Cancer: The Epic Journey Towards a Natural Cure by Sylvie Beljanski. If you are looking for an ordinary, run-of-the-mill, cookie-cutter, tree-hugger type of book on holistic or healthy living, then this book is probably not for you. However, if you want something intriguing (borderline shocking), weightier, and backed by hard science, then read on.

The War on Cancer is both a memoir and a mind-boggling exposé on a decades-old discovery on a natural cure for not only cancer but even the AIDS virus and the politics surrounding this. It is a book detailing the author’s truly epic journey on continuing her late father’s work. The author, Sylvie Beljanski, is French. She is a lawyer and the founder of both the Beljanski Foundation and Natural Source International Ltd. The author’s father, Dr. Mirko Beljanski, was one of the first green molecular biologists. He spearheaded the treatment of cancer and AIDS by using, amongst other things, Pao Pereira. Towards the end of his life, his government, along with other pharmaceutical companies, sought to destroy, discredit, and tarnish his work and name. His daughter has made it her life’s mission to carry on the legacy of her father and to bring to light both the good and bad surrounding his work.

I found The War on Cancer to be highly informative and incredibly insightful. As they say, you really don’t know what you don’t know. The book is stunning, in every sense of the word; it is both shocking and beautifully written. Clearly, I enjoyed reading the book, but its content goes far beyond entertainment value; the information contained in it is literally life-changing. People suffering from certain diseases could have their health and lives restored! This is a book that the entire world needs to know about. The lengths to which Big Pharma and certain national authorities would go for the sake of greed, power, and money are truly despicable.

There was nothing not to like. The book’s material is top quality in all aspects: content, intrigue, structure, and flawless editing. Despite being rather scientific, it is not dry at all. I love that even with the many detailed scientific terms presented, the book is still very readable and easily digestible for the layman. However, it has not been dumbed-down; it is a real educational experience, and one may need to look up certain information from the book on the internet for better understanding. However, if I could change one thing, it would probably be the book’s cover. I may not be a graphic designer, but I believe a more eye-catching or dramatic cover would be more appealing and do the book more justice.

Who needs to read this book? Everyone! However, this book would be most helpful for AIDS and cancer patients or their caregivers, be it doctors or their family members. The remedies presented are not only confined to AIDS or cancer but also many other ailments. If you love reading or researching alternative, holistic, natural treatments, then this book is for you.

All in all, I highly recommend The War on Cancer: The Epic Journey Towards a Natural Cure by Sylvie Beljanski. The book is eye-opening, informative, insightful, and excellently written. It is a piece of writing whose information should be made widely available. It easily gets a 4 out of 4 stars rating from me.
