"Ghost with two hearts" by Michael R. French begins with Adrian Green deciding to travel to Japan. He will take with him a samurai sword that his grandfather took from a Japanese soldier. His pleasant stay is interrupted by Kami, a ghost who lives in the space that Adrian has rented.

The premise of this book reminds me of a couple of animes I've seen and it's fascinating following Chuck as he returns the samurai sword to Japan on a vacation he takes after his divorce. More noteworthy was his interactions with Kami the ghost. There were a couple of lessons learnt, the most noteworthy being "the idea that certain imperfect things or situations are better left the way they are". Meaning It is what it is.

The meeting of the physical and spiritual realms seems like an appropriate metaphor for how two distinct cultures interact. Despite the differences, favorable coexistence is achievable.
