"Hale" is a fantasy novel about a 16-year-old boy named Hale who tries to escape from his kidnapper and finds himself in a world of magic. He discovers that he is a griffin, a mythical creature with incredible talents, and gets close to the Griffin Leader, Bayo. However, Hale is unaware of Bayo's dark plans for him and their connection.
The novel explores themes of family values, friendships, loss, manipulation, good and bad relationships, finding one's path and dealing with mistakes. The story takes place in a diverse fantasy world with four unique nations and cultures. The novel is broken into short stories that follow different characters, bringing the reader into fun adventures in every chapter. The unique magic system is unlike anything in fantasy literature today.
Hale is a perceptive and intelligent character who can notice many things about a person with just a glance. Bayo is the all-powerful Griffin King and leader of the Griffin Clan. Other characters include Mary, a cunning girl and another gryphon; Ellionna, the vessel of the siren; and Marcus, the prophet of the gryffin.
