Review of Propri
Fictional books and Hollywood usually paint stories of redemption as though they are always straightforward, a simplistic tale of good scaling through life's many evils and vices. However, the book "Propri" by C. Richard Bell allows us to witness the reality and scope of actual redemption. It is usually not as straightforward as some might imagine. This book examines the messy and often painful journey towards redemption. The book's writing style is special and very unique, as the author frequently engages in internal dialogues almost throughout the narrative.
The reader would admit that the protagonist, Propri, was actually a flawed and vulnerable individual who, from time to time, fell into dangerous pits of his own making. The author skillfully shows the unvarnished truth of human nature through Propri's perspective, revealing the intricate web of emotions, motivation, and choices that ultimately shape our lives. The reader follows Propri's story of grappling with past mistakes and dealing with his inner demons, including his mother's suicide and his own guilt. The author masterfully shows how, through a gradual search for redemption and a series of introspective and emotional struggles, Propri slowly gave himself to positive transformation.
The themes explored by the author throughout the entirety of the book were very strong and compelling. The book's theme of redemption and self-discovery was one of the most dominant. Through Propri's experiences, he confronts his past mistakes, acknowledges his flaws, and strives to be a better person, one who will eventually prioritize not hurting others. His redemptiMoments of introspection, self-reflection, dialogue with his inner self, and a desire to make amends for past wrongs highlight his redemption journey. o explores the themes of faith and spirituality. Propri's spiritual growth and exploration of faith became a source of strength and comfort for him as he grew older. This theme can be said to be deeply tied to the themes of redemption and self-discovery, as Propri seeks a deeper understanding of himself and the world around him. Innocence and corruption are another interesting theme in this book. The book touches on the loss of innocence and the corrupting influence of society. Propri reflects on his childhood and ponders how society and the environment can lead a person astray.
The plot is firmly set in the United States of America, where a couple of states were mentioned, including Pennsylvania and California, the state where Propri was born and raised. The book had nothing to dislike, and the editing was carefully done.
I would recommend this book to people who enjoy character-driven narratives and personal growth; anyone struggling with addiction and genuinely hoping to break free from it; fans of contemporary narratives; and generally anyone who wants to enjoy a good book. I'd rate this book 5 out of 5.
