After reading this review I now have a fair idea about what to expect from this book. From what the review portrays, the book seems like an exciting read for those who are into fantasy and supernatural creatures. Although the plot seems a little predictable from what I understand, I would still read the book to see if it is what I imagined it to be. Great review!

Souls are lured to the game "To the Wheels" with the promise of heaven, but they end up in hell. Angel's investigating bureau suspects Trixie's mother, Death. Trixie's friend Zuzu ends up in hell after going to the game. Will Trixie save her mom and friend? An immersive fantasy tale. That was a wonderful review.

"Always Carry Your Scythe" takes the familiar concept of Death and turns it on its head. Exploring themes of family dynamics within the framework of an unconventional family (Trixie being the daughter of Death) offers a fresh perspective.

This sounds like my kind of read. I usually prefer series, but it sounds like the pacing is perfect and everything was wrapped up well. Besides the underlying theme of friendship, I like that it's set in hell (at least a part of it is). The kind of powers Trixie must have, being the daughter of Death! Thanks for the review!

Trixie was approached by agents from the Angel Investigative Bureau in search of her mother, Death. It was suspected that Death was involved in a gameshow that was famous for luring souls with the promise of heaven; instead, they had horrible lifetimes and hell. With Trixie's best friend, Zuzi, in danger, she went to the gameshow as part of the audience and wound up in hell:
What's interesting is the way from the gameshow, which has a connection with her mother, to become saving her best friend.
The attention to detail was impeccable, creating a unique and immersive world that felt eerily real:
This weird-to-be-true world-building is told in such details, which should be a curious thing to delve into.
