What do you do when you have no family? Our MC here decided to use religion to give her life a purpose. What will happen to her on this journey? Will it be as peaceful as it sounds? Congratulations on the BOTD, and best wishes for future projects.

It sounds like "The Stylite" by Shane Hallawa offers an immersive blend of genres and influences, weaving together a narrative rich in cultural and spiritual symbolism. Your review captures the depth of Teresa Amadei's character development and the complex world-building that Hallawa employs, which seems to skillfully combine action, mysticism, and a nuanced exploration of spirituality from multiple traditions.

The book seems interesting filled with lots of adventures and at the same time thought-provoking as the story combines different religions and mysticism; besides Teresa has lots of inner conflicts which she has to solve. It will be interesting to read this book. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

It will be nice to explore fantasy that is set in this time and part of the world. Having characters speak in their language with translation is not an issue for me. I find it enlightening.

The Stylite by Shane Hallawa is a fantasy novel with a unique blend of action, adventure, mysticism, martial arts, and a heroine battling against demons. Teresa, depressed and dealing with her mother's death, is sent to Father Simon by her aunt and uncle. There, she is trained in martial arts and meditation to help her become a demon hunter. Congratulations on the BOTD!

I have never heard of Zoroastrianism, and it's good news that the author explains terminology before diving into the story. Losing a family member, especially one's mother, with unresolved issues between you, is a traumatic experience. It appears the protagonist has her hands full with these internal and several external challenges. Thank you for your comprehensive review.

True, I agree with you. Sample read the book and was impressed to see the visual representation of visor and explanation of terms used, characters, language etc., Storyline seems to be different and looks like a movie material for me. Not sure if I'll be reading it as it's bulky. Thanks for the brief review!
