Review of The Date Farm
Agent Lara and Mossad Uri got married after their last encounter in California. They decided to have a short holiday in the US after living in Israel, Uri’s home base. Lara and Uri visit Edmond’s house, where her parents reside. Things were quiet until they were both awakened by a call in the early morning. Lara and Uri had to pack their bags and leave for Los Angeles. Mary Robley, the head of the local office, receives them at the FBI headquarters, where the whole event regarding the Beverly Hills massacre was related to the two agents. After weeks of the massacre, the team receives news of another attack in New York targeting the Federal Reserve and the Chase Manhattan Bank. What are the terrorists’ motives for attacking those locations? Find out in this suspense-filled book named The Date Farm.
The Date Farm is a fictional story focusing on crime, family, and revenge. This book is one of the Lara and Uri series written by Jack Winnick. This is a 336-page book about the adventures of Lara and Uri in recovering items stolen by a well-known Iranian terrorist, Sheikh Zainal Abidin.
The author divided the book into chapters, showing the scene locations in the title. It was the best feature of the book, which I enjoyed. I got to learn about different locations that were unfamiliar to me before. I was intrigued as the story stated bits of information from the previous book in the series. I was familiar with some of the characters mentioned in the book. I enjoyed reading this book, as I wanted to find out why the terrorists kept targeting those two locations.
The book was unnecessarily lengthy. The author kept cutting the story into bits. The book was also professionally edited, as I encountered errors while reading. However, it does not stop me from giving the novel a well-deserved rating. Therefore, I rate this book five out of five stars for its suspense and engagement.
I recommend this book to lovers of crime and thriller novels. The book is suitable for mature readers as it contains bits of violence.
