'But things take a dark turn when she meets Sean and starts to commemorate his father’s life. Terrible visions and nightmares lead her to believe that she is painting the portrait of a serial killer. But that is not all, there is an evil in her painting that threatens her very life.'
I will not like to miss the intrigue in this book.

I really loved the book's overview as it was really sentimental for me knowing that she had to use the ashes of her mother to make a picture. Nice storyline

The concept of the novel and the elements of the supernatural make this story thrilling. As Kira finds herself in the middle of this situation, I wonder how she'd handle it now.
As long as there is a concept of victors, the vanquished will always exist.

It is interesting that the artist relives crucial moments from the deceased subject's life. How eerie is that? This is a great plot. The fact that the book is well written with vivid descriptions and good character development makes it a must read. I have added it to my bookshelves. :techie-studyinggray:

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting thriller novel following a painter that uses the ashes of the dead to create paintings, but gets experiences about the lives of the dead. It might be worth a second look. Well done.

This book is suitable for horror and mystery fans. I like Stephen King books. So I might like this one. Kira's art of mixing ashes with paint sounds crazy but it's attractive.

Thank you for your descriptive review on "A Brush with Death" by Jody Summers. I enjoyed your review and the sample from Amazon but got thrown off when I saw that you only rated it 3 out of 4 stars. Then when I saw that it was so horrific to be like a Stephen King book and had some erotic scenes, I thought maybe that was the reason why you rated it that way because for the most part it seemed like you enjoyed the book while reading the other reviews and your comments. I also decided to put this book on my shelf to read and I'm looking forward to this series too. Congratulations to the author for BOTD.

'Official Review: A Brush with Death' by Jody Summers is a desirable insight into the crime thriller story for readers. I like the writing style in the review. The point that this is the story of Kira, a painter living in New Orleans, who is struggling with her mother's death is worth mentioning in the review. Her art helps her clients find peace, comfort, and hope. Also, as mentioned in the review, the plot is original with a satisfying ending. Learning that the descriptions offer a cinematic experience to the readers was great!

I love all different types of art, but the idea of a painting including a person's remains makes me feel queasy. I am interested in the mystical thriller aspect of this story and will add it to my bookshelf!

A Brush with Death by Jody Summers Is the first book in a new series that is quite a unique idea. There is an extra ingredient in the paint that artist Kira uses in her artworks. It is a dark mystery and on the edge if not squarely in the horror genre. The reviewer did not enjoy the relationship between Sean and Kira as it was not well developed in the script. Otherwise the review was complementary about most everything else regarding the book. This book may need a revision and further editing.

I agree with you, this sounds like a very original plot and I'm already hooked. I'm sure the author will take notice of your comments and apply them to future books in the series.

The plot is interesting and at the same time shocking, imagine mixing the paint with ashes of the deceased person. I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out how Kira’s art will change her life.

I love thrillers, so I'm sure I'll love this book. I love the pun in the title of the book. Kira's ability to relive the deceaseds' lives sounds terrifying. I'm intrigued by the plot, so I'll definitely check this book out.

"A Brush with Death" by Jody Summers is a chilling thriller about Kira, a painter in New Orleans, who mixes her mother's ashes into paint, leading to a successful yet haunting business. Her artwork reveals dark secrets, culminating in a dangerous encounter with a serial killer's spirit. Despite some rushed romantic elements, the novel captivates with its unique plot, vivid descriptions, and suspenseful narrative. It is recommended for horror and mystery fans. Thank you for a great review.
