I am curious to know how Gunari's stealing of Petre in Bucharest is related to the events of 2017.

Thank you for the great review.

The book looks like a fast paced, emotional and thrilling book with themes of prophecy and religion in it. I can't wait to read this intriguing book and find out what happened to Petre. Thank you for your review!

Seems like a great read after reading your review, especially the part where you said that it is captivating even for readers who aren't fans of the genre, I'll be sure to add the book to my reading list.

The twist in this plot is actually interesting. I would love to know how and why Gunari was able to steal the baby and the purpose of the man with the ideology.

The meticulous attention to detail, such as the change in the spelling of Petre’s name, underscores the author’s commitment to authenticity and symbolism. This small but significant detail enhances the cultural and historical context of the story, providing a richer reading experience. It reflects the broader theme of identity and transformation, resonating with readers on multiple levels.

This is more of a supernatural thriller, which I'm not generally a fan of. In addition, the threat to steal a baby is not of interest to me and did not draw me in.

I feel for Gunari, doing what on a normal he won’t do just to make some cash. I wonder what happened as he didn’t meet his end of bargain. What an interesting review, I enjoyed it.

"In Lieu of Flowers" by Keith Steinbaum masterfully blends historical fiction with elements of mystery and prophecy. The moral dilemmas faced by Gunari, especially as an expectant father himself, add profound depth to the narrative, making the reader question the extent to which desperation can drive a person to forsake their principles.

I liked that the reviewer showed aspects that I might be interested to know as a reader before choosing the book. The theme isn't my favourite read. The idea didn't attract me. However, I think that the mystery and the idea of dark, hidden forces will appeal to many readers. Congrats on BOTD

I’m looking forward to digging into this novel to find out what caused the failure of Gunari’s plan of stealing a child and how this affected his life and his relationship with his loved ones and the people he interacted in the community.

The writer demonstrates a talent for constructing characters with intricate moral dilemmas. Gunari's portrayal as a desperate individual forced into committing a grave deed illuminates the nuanced spectrum of human conduct and the extraordinary lengths individuals may go to in times of desperation.

'Official Review: In Lieu of Flowers' by Keith Steinbaum narrates the engaging story for curious readers. Readers learn about the main points of the book. The point that this work of fiction tells the story of a Jewish/Romanian child is worth mentioning in the review. Also, as mentioned in the review, this is a story about an airmen. Nice to learn that the story is gripping and there was no dull moments in reading it!

Great detailed review! I don't know if I believe in the devil. It seems like whenever someone does something horrific, everyone blames it on the devil. The devil made them do it! Really?
