I really was intrigued when I read the review. It just goes to show you that regardless where a person is from, what their economical level is or which community they are from, one thing that we all have in common is the Life struggles that we all experience as we are growing up and even when we become adults. Our differences are what make us unique and special; its not a reason to be bullied or ostracized. I really appreciate this review; it give a true glimpse of the subject matter. It doesn't cost anything to be kind, and we all deserve to be treated with kindness because we never truly know what someone is struggling or dealing with.

I love coming-of-age stories where the protagonist(s) are able to overcome adversity by realizing their full potential. Delbert's story is reminiscent to what real-life teenagers are currently going through in school—trying to find themselves and fit in. I cannot wait to get this book.

Just a few people in your life can make all the difference. They can change your outlook so much that you become a success rather than an abject person without prospects. In "Life Shattered" by Sandy Graham, the author tells of a bullied poverty-stricken child that is befriended by a peer and by their math teacher. These friendships help the gifted but outlier child rise to success in the world. Great review!

While normally I love historical fiction and am prepared to read any book the genre offers, there are some exceptions and, unfortunately, this book will become one of them, because after reading the review I saw nothing regarding the past, but very well present social issues our society faces. Apologies and still congratulations on BOTD!

Thank you for your great review. I'm glad you liked the book. I enjoyed reading the sample too. I also became a cheerleader for Delbert and believe he was a lot stronger than he realized. I have never understood why kids bully others. How would they feel if someone bullied them? I have added this to my list of books to read.

The review provided valuable insights. The book appears intriguing, addressing the serious and common issue of bullying at school. It's reassuring to see that Delbert had two supporters at school. I am eager to delve into the book.

Pillage really had unpleasant experiences in school and this is something I know that can affect the life at an individual generally.
