All knickers and body bags

Some grammar rules (and embarrassing mistakes!) transcend the uniqueness of different regions and style guides. This new International Grammar section by OnlineBookClub.org ultimately identifies those rules thus providing a simple, flexible rule-set, respecting the differences between regions and style guides. You can feel free to ask general questions about spelling and grammar. You can also provide example sentences for other members to proofread and inform you of any grammar mistakes.

First of all, you don't get paid for your first review. It's sort of a test to see if you would be a good fit at OBC. Second, you should not take mental notes but physical ones. I use a 9X11 legal pad, and it's not uncommon for me to have 10 pages of notes. Third, I would check on that update tab and see what is going on. They might be giving you a chance to redo your review.

Yes, they’re giving you a chance to fix your review and resubmit it. I also had to resubmit my first review. I think the rule here is that if you finish the book, you have to write a review. So I would just take what the editor said and apply it to your review. We’re here to help if you have questions, and you can always send me a message on here. Don’t take mental notes; write down your notes to refer back to later. There are things you may need to remember, like profanity and errors. They’ll ask for page or location numbers for those. And your first review is not paid. It’s like your audition. But it will be accepted and published when your review follows the guidelines and is up to their standards. Don’t give up!
