Review of E M P Honeymoon
“E M P Honeymoon” by Dorothy May Mercer is an exciting science fiction novel about newlyweds Tom and Kelly, who plan a relaxing vacation on a resort island. Their trip takes a dangerous turn when Kelly discovers a terrorist cell on the island. Recognizing the perilous situation she is in, she informs her brother, Senator McBride. They work together and discover that a dangerous new nuclear weapon is being prepared for deployment to North America. There is a CIA agent, two female agents from a clandestine government agency, and a policeman and his wife on honeymoon. All these characters meet on the island of Honduras; however, Kelly’s discovery turns into an exciting search. One of them is a young, beautiful lady. She is a terrorist who operates the group with six men. This work also discovers ways these characters and government organizations relate to one another and whether they can collectively approach terrorist evil and save America. This interpretation may also be attributed to the noir motives for the main character, especially in the scenes connected with the single CIA agent, and the rays of hope for the romantic turn of the plot.
This thrilling novel kept me hooked from start to finish, providing a standalone adventure within the McBride series. The detailed depiction of the efforts to thwart the terrorist attack highlighted the couple’s significant sacrifices for national security, which I found particularly compelling. Kelly’s expertise in computer decoding and Tom’s experience as a city policeman added realism to their mission, making them a highly compatible and engaging pair. Su-jin, a young commander, is assigned a secret mission in Honduras with her team. They are trained to pose as tourists, allowing them to execute their mission without raising suspicion.
The thing that I enjoyed most from the book was that the start was so engaging that you just could not lay the book aside and eagerly continued to read to see how the story would come to an end. Despite changes in points of view, the transitions between them were smooth and well explained by the author. The comical elements aimed at creating a fun and entertaining feel to it made reading the story a rather engaging experience. I noticed that the authors presented a very interesting and clear way of writing, which also contributed to the ease of reading through free downloadable articles. The author did a splendid job of combining aspects of science fiction, romance, and thriller genres and developing an appealing plot. Thus, first of all, it addresses the point of readability, which can be clearly seen when it comes to simple definitions, such as EMP technology. The author managed to explain the concept, how the science behind the EMP technology works, and the possible effects clearly and concisely, so that even those who have no knowledge of the subject could easily understand it. I found no dislikes about this book. It is exceptionally well edited.
If you enjoy action-packed stories with a touch of romance, I highly recommend “E M P Honeymoon. For instance, there is a hint made at naming two characters as ‘Kelly and Tom.’ It is a wonderful, mystical world that can simply enthrall anyone to the core. The book can be recommended for those who want to read novels with numerous exciting and conspiratorial moments and twists. This novel was fun to read, especially for those who like action and suspense. I give this book a rating of 5 out of 5 stars.
