Which edition of Dante's Divine Comedy should I purchase?

Post by ccking »

I want to read Dante's Divine Comedy and don't know which edition I should buy since their are several diferent kinds on the internet.

I would prefer hardback to paperback.
I would like the most popular edition (for example, The Catcher in the Rye with the carousal cover is the most well known edition of the book).
I only know the english language so please recommend english editions please.

Well, I don't know if there is a definitive "most popular" edition, since its so ancient and probably less-read these days than more contemporary classics. BUT. This edition is simply beautiful, I own it myself and I've never regretted the purchase.

...And I can't post links yet. Right. Well, go to Barnes and Noble's website and search "Divine Comedy Barnes and Noble Leatherbound Classics." It has all three works, of course, and is only $20, which is amazing, given the quality.
