All Christians who have decided to get married and wish to prepare for marriage by setting aside time for prayer will find that Soni Lee's book Engaged in Prayer: Prayer Journal for Engaged Couples is the perfect companion. The author provides weekly prayer suggestions for twelve weeks on a variety of topics, including unity, communication, wisdom, patience, compassion, and love. For each of these, you will find quotes from the Bible, a prayer prompt, and space to write down your thoughts and reflections for each day of the week.

This book appeals to me since it makes the reader think and meditate. However, this book also has the advantage of encouraging engaged couples to start praying for one another well before their marriage and not only if and when the need arises after they tie the knot. It is common sense, and I hope readers will put this advice into practice.

As for the journal, I like that each theme is introduced by quotes from the Holy Scriptures, but above all, I appreciate that the author left space for the reader to write their notes. This allows for introspection, and those who have engaged in these activities and prayers will definitely approach marriage with a higher level of awareness and maturity.

The only negative side of this book is the typos; I have found many, even if they are often oversights. Unfortunately, in a short book like this, this flaw matters. Furthermore, I add that the book is suited exclusively for Christians since it makes constant reference to the Holy Scriptures.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars, but it would have deserved the higher rating if it were not for the typos. I recommend this book to all Christians who are about to get married. I am sure they will find it very pleasant to prepare for marriage by reflecting on the prompts they will find here, and they will appreciate what prayer can bring to their lives.

After reading the review, it seems that Soni Lee's book "Engaged in Prayer: Prayer Journal for Engaged Couples" would be a worthwhile read, especially for Christians preparing for marriage. The weekly prayer suggestions, accompanied by Bible quotes, provide a thoughtful and introspective approach to building a strong foundation for marriage. The inclusion of space for personal reflections allows for deeper contemplation and growth. However, the reviewer did mention some typos in the book which could be a drawback. Despite that, this book is rated 4 out of 5 stars and is recommended for engaged Christians seeking to strengthen their bond through prayer. Beautifully crafted, every word carefully chosen.
