Marie's story is uplifting, and anyone with disability should not feel less incapable in life. Priests and nuns telling her that God was punishing her for being evil—that was so low from them and shocking. People with disabilities should be supported and equally treated, not mistreated and marginalised. Thanks for your great review, and congratulations to the BOTD author!

I cannot imagine how difficult it is to share your personal struggles with the world. However, I commend the author by reliving their most painful memories. Although this isn't a book I would typically read, it does sound like a heartfelt read.

Non fiction books are not my cup of tea but the review is well written and the story itself is very heartwarming and sweet. The author had a lot obstacles and challenges in her life and because of those hardships had a chance to figure out who she could rely upon. Congratulations on becoming BOTD!

Some time ago, I had a tooth removed and was advised not to talk for a day or two. Even if I had tried, I wouldn’t have been able to because my mouth felt heavy, and talking wouldn’t have helped me heal faster. It was a temporary but very inconvenient situation. Unfortunately, I had to join conversations with people who had no idea what I was going through and asked me questions as if it were a normal day. It was definitely not business as usual for me. I felt frustrated during those two days and came to appreciate the ability to speak.

As I read through the review of this book, I can only imagine what life must have been like for the author and how they lived through their challenges. I look forward to seeing how the author navigated these situations and learning from their life experiences. I commend the author’s ability to skillfully bring this to life and eagerly anticipate reading it.

This is such a bittersweet book.
I am glad the author made use of her inner voice through the form of this book to express her transition from having the power of speech to losing it.
I have often experienced a sore throat growing up; in my own sphere of life, this was an opportunity for adventure and games for children. The journey of Marie McCreadie reveals a different reality that partially turns into her worst nightmare.
I am keen to save this for a later read as there is much that appeals to my curiosity.
Congratulations on achieving BOTD!

Living with a disability is always a challenge; however, every disability has its own particularities. In 'Voiceless,' we learn about the specific challenges that a person without the gift of her voice has to face. But in facing such challenges, we can also find amazing ways to be 'reborn' and see life through fresher eyes.

Voiceless" by Marie McCreadie is extremely interesting. I love the honesty she displayed in penning down her life's experiences. There are numerous Maries in our world and all that they need is our kindness and empathy. May Marie's life become easier. Congrats on BOTD. Beautiful review.

It is shocking that religious leaders said Marie could not speak because she was being punished. I've experienced short periods of time when I couldn't speak and it's very frustrating. Thank you for your informative review.
