Marie’s story in "Voiceless" left me in awe of her courage. I can’t imagine the frustration and isolation she must have felt, especially with the harsh treatment from those around her. Her determination to continue with her education and work, despite losing her voice, inspires.
I believe in something greater than myself.

I find it admirable that Marie was able to be social and make friends and didn't allow her disability to derail her life. This is so inspiring. Thank you for the review.

Marie McCreadie's 'Voiceless' powerfully captures the profound struggles and resilience of a young girl silenced by illness yet undeterred in her pursuit of self-expression and dignity.

This book is quite touching. I am amazed by the author’s presence of mind that saw her then merely a teenager endure and rise above a debilitating disease that took away her voice. It's quite traumatizing that the priests and nuns in her Catholic school thought she was faking her muteness. Thanks.

It’s not nice that people with disabilities are treated so badly, and I like that her parents gave her a whistle in case of any danger.

This book offers a deeply moving and honest account of the author struggles with losing her voice as a teenager. The book effectively highlights the harsh realities faced by individuals with disabilities, including mistreatment and misunderstandings from both peers and authority figures. Nice review.

In Voiceless, McCreadie's unflinching honesty about her life with a disabling condition offers a poignant exploration of human resilience and societal indifference.

I am always interested in reading life stories. The review just gave me a new perspective on her life. I just finished reading the sample, and to see that such a bright soul suffered so much breaks my heart. I am a singer myself and cannot imagine the pain she must have gone through. great read, honestly.

Hell's Maelström by James Redmond is a gripping tale of survival and unity against a common enemy. The characters Bill, Kim, and Grace face relentless threats from creatures and hostile humans in a world teetering on the edge of chaos. Will they manage to come together and defend themselves?

This book is the true biographic account of Marie McCreadie of her struggle to study and socialize in her teenage years while being completely mute. What makes this book deep is the honesty with which the author told her story. It's a balance between emotional and social commentary, an expose of the treatment of people with disabilities.
I agree with the reviewer rating, this story provides awareness of the disabled community along with an inspirational message.

'When Marie was a teenager, she became extremely ill with a sore throat. Although she eventually became well enough to resume school and other normal activities, she did not regain her voice.'
I can't begin to imagine how Marie felt loosing her voice.

"Voiceless" by Marie McCreadie seems to shed light on the struggles of losing one's voice and the harsh realities of misunderstood illness. I look forward to experiencing her journey and gaining insight from her experiences. Congratulations on the Book of Today Award.

It's saddening that the illness caused Marie to become voiceless. I will read the book to experience Marie's life journey and how she managed through her challenge. Congratulations on being the BOTD.
