Review of Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book
Play Golf Better Faster: The Little Golf Bag Book, written by Kalliope Barlis, is one-of-a-kind in that it will help you speed up your golfing ability. The book consists of three sections, and the primary focus of the description of the mental side of golf closely connects thinking to results, with the author stating that improvements in the intellect result in improvements in the field. Barlis recommends that the lessons be taken in a quiet atmosphere to maximize the lessons taught in the book and acquire mastery in golfing, going a notch higher than mere techniques.
This guide is both a starting point and an ending point for a completely new dimension of resources if one is interested in the sport. While Barlis effectively incorporates actual game descriptions and nuances into the book, the author also provides applicable steps for improving one's life and skills in the process. Beginners will be exposed to the elementary concepts of this game, while intermediate and advanced players will benefit from tips on how to prepare psychologically. Although filled with information and exercises, the book adheres to workout sessions and practice tips, leaving little room for fluff. Skills needed for a specific job are not as emphasized unless they are basic.
The author's conscious decision to avoid the typical golf jargon is something I applaud. The division of the book into chapters, each of which focuses on a certain aspect of the game, allows for straightforward searching for the necessary information and the immediate use of Barlis’ advice. I offer this book a perfect 5 out of 5 star rating. It was free of errors and exceptionally well edited. There is nothing to dislike in this book. It is recommended for lovers of sports and also for people who have an interest in playing golf.
The only drawback one may discuss may be the explanation of some measures, which might be complicated for a newcomer to golf. That being the case, this does not in any way diminish the usefulness of the book as a source of practical information I like as I start my golfing career. Still, Barlis’ detailed descriptions successfully make the reader see the world of golf and use it as a potent symbol.
