Former war veteran Enzo Fiore is haunted by PTSD until he discovers his destiny in fighting demonic forces. Michael, the angel, teaches him with much pressure how to manipulate his new powers. Such a journey was hard, with much personal struggle. It is his love for Roxanne and faith that keep Enzo going amidst all odds.

As demonic attacks increase all over the world, Enzo becomes a "Symbol of Hope," fighting Baal in a final struggle. He wins, but at a great personal cost, which leaves Roxanne dealing with loss at the end. Roxanne has an important role in saving humans, too, foretold by the mustard seed given by angel Gabriel, with a lot of twists to this story. This book is full of themes on faith, perseverance, and righteousness versus evil. The book was exceptionally well-edited and error-free.

What I really like, which comes from the storyline, is that it's the relationships and the emotional bonds that make everything. It is Enzo's friendship, like with Charlie and Dan, and his relations with Roxanne, in general, these warm relations that bring out a sense of normalcy amidst all this supernatural pandemonium. These are not mere sideline activities but fuel his development. They are emotional and therefore supportive of him, only to make his journey even more relatable and human. The author balances the action-packed, supernatural elements very well with heartfelt, touching moments to make the story engaging.

Nothing about the plot of Symbol bothers me. I found it amazing how Enzo went from being a damaged, insecure guy to someone full of power and optimism, and it resonated with concepts of personal development and evolution. The writing also struck me as good. The conversation seems realistic and tends to balance out all those incredibly emotional moments, and Giovanni Flores's detailed style undoubtedly helps the reader visualize places and experience emotions.

I gave this book 5 out of 5 stars and see it as a masterpiece with outstanding character development and an engaging plotline, with some very meaningful themes brought out by some excellent writing. That is why I gave it a perfect rating. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a read that might engage and make one reflect on some issues.
