"Be the Weight Behind the Spear" by Josh McConkey is a book about leadership in America. The author believes that young leaders need to be taught and armed with the tools needed for outstanding leadership. Dr. McConkey has worked with the U.S. Air Force, in business and on the battlefield in Iran and he has found that the world is failing its future leaders. The support that is needed for young leaders is referred to as the weight behind the spear and the author hopes that this book will make an impact. I admire the author’s love for America and his desire to make it better. If only Congress had the same goals instead of wasting time and money on useless investigations and no accomplishments by the current republican majority. I share the author’s passion to dramatically improve the leadership of America. I plan to read this entire book.

The author's passion and experience shine through, making the book relatable and engaging. I appreciated the personal anecdotes and historical accounts that added depth to the narrative. While I also noticed the minor inconsistency regarding the divorce mention, it didn't detract from the book's overall impact.
