This book, A Vanishing Kind by John Wamsley and Stephen L. Davey, is a captivating story that depicts the passion of a man who loves wildlife. It truly inspires, and it's a pity that so many plant and animal species are extinct. This is a well-detailed review, and I look forward to reading more.

Conservation is a field I’m deeply passionate about. The Australian bush, with its unique diversity of plants and animals, easily inspires a love for its wild, remote beauty. Conservation efforts are often more complex than many people realize, and I’m grateful that John took the time to delve into these important details.

Conservation of animals and plants is critical, and conserving a region's habitat and ecology is paramount. It is a very educational review. It will be exciting to read about Australian efforts in this direction and the methodology they adopted.

I agree. Keeping plants and animals safe in their habitats can be a difficult task, especially when there are people who don't care about the well being of plants and animals around. But did John successfully manage to protect these creations from being destroyed? How did his company fare amid corrupt officials and the change of government regulations? I will read the book to find out. Congratulations on being the BOTD.

I think most countries with wildlife have a struggle to keep them safe from extinction and have to face threats of corrupt officials, ignorance and greed. When I visited Australia I was thrilled to experience the awareness of protecting their animals and plant life by all Australians I met. John and the organisation he established undoubtedly played a big role to accomplish that. I hope South Africa can learn from his work in our own struggles to protect our rhino, cheetah and other endangered species. Thank you for your informative review.

I'll like to read about this John who was born a bush-lover (a unique hobby). The opening chapters of the book describe how John rose above difficulties and grew into a strong and industrious youth. How much fun did John have that his love of mathematics did not keep him away from the bush?
