Your review is very thorough, Stephanie! I only sampled the Preface, and, like you, I've already felt all the love Stephen felt for Mary Ann. It must have taken Stephen and the family huge courage to write this book, as Stephen had started it shortly after Mary Ann's passing. I agree with your all-stars rating for this book.

'Official Review: Last Dance' by Stephen Manning has a thought-provoking introduction. It portrays the major aspects of the book. The point that the book is a labor of love written to celebrate the life of a lovely woman and a devoted mother is worth mentioning in the review. Readers would be entertained by the fun-loving relationship between the author and his wife and endearing stories about raising a family. Also, as mentioned in the review, the author shared his travel experiences. It was great to learn that Stephen's raw emotion and unconditional love for his wife translated into a beautiful love story!

Such a heartfelt tribute to a devoted mother and wife. It is obvious that the author has a lot to tell about his late wife. How deep love and grief can be. But to be honest, I'm not a fan of slow paced narrative. Thank you for a nice review.

This sounds like a beautiful and inspiring story full of emotion. I love how you described Stephen's unwavering love for his wife, it really made me want to read the book. It sucks about the pacing, but I don't think it'll bother me too much. Thanks for the review.

The Last Dance: And a Loving Mother is Stephen Manning's very moving memoir of the poetic grandeur of love and loss, but it also speaks of the powerful permanence that lies behind human bonds. This book has received a perfect 5-star rating from four Official OnlineBookClub.org reviewers and in excess of 200 five-star ratings on Amazon—a true power of love, resilience of the human spirit. Manning's memoir details his relationship with his wife from when they first met to their eventual marriage, the birth of children, and finally to the heart-wrenching moment of her passing just 72 hours after their son's wedding. It is a very emotional read, and in the most personal, sad moments of her life, readers get sucked into the details. What makes this book stand out is that deep personal sorrow has been translated into the universal story of love and memory. Tenderness and respect enlighten the portrayal that this author made of his wife, who in his life was a tender mother, a loving wife, and a dear friend. It is a beautiful and at the same time heartbreaking love story that gives readers one of life's biggest lessons: how short it can be, yet how great the impressions of love can be. One of the things that sets Last Dance apart is the writing style of the author. Manning writes with an honesty and vulnerability that is refreshing and deeply affecting. By the clarity with which he conveys his emotions, he enables readers to become thoroughly consumed by his story and to experience the highs—joyful memories—but also the lows of devastating loss with him. Another reason the book is so emotionally deep is the way Manning captures small, intimate moments added together that make for a life well-lived. From the cheer of his children growing up to those silent moments with his wife, these glimpses into his life are what really made the memoir so relatable and powerful. Last Dance: And a Loving Mother is an exquisitely written, emotionally resonant memoir that is bound to make a lasting impression on readers. It is a must-read for any person who has loved, lost, and who appreciates stories that speak to the heart. Manning's tribute to his wife is not only the celebration of her life but the reflection of the enduring power of love. This book deserves every one of its five-star ratings, and it is a story that will stay with you long after the final page is turned.

From a sampling, this seems like an interesting memoir to the author's late wife as he explains how she was a fantastic mother to their children. It might be worth a second look. Well done.
