My heart is also softened by the author's unwavering love for his late wife. The mere fact that he wrote this book says a lot. I also like that he included the good times as well as the tragedies to give the reader more insight into their strong bond.

There is nothing more painful than knowing that you will lose someone and then not being able to stop it. I envy the bond between him and his mother, and I understand that their beautiful memories will last a lifetime. This is a well-written review, and I look forward to more.

I really good.. The earth is fully revolving around different kinds of relations. Out of that a relation that is coming out of love is most precious and valuable one.

A heartfelt memoir of a family's joys and losses. This book will appeal to many but may also trigger others. For example, my mother battled breast cancer; this book might be too close to home for me.

It looks like a lovely book that showcases the author's love for his wife throughout their lives and features the details of their marriage, their ups and downs, until she tragically falls to illness. Thank you for your review!

Mary Ann must have been so dear to Stephen. It is so heartwarming to know that the book is not only a form of appreciation to women, but also a tribute to a late wife. Nice review.

A book for readers of all ages about family, love between husband and wife, and their children is welcome. It explores enduring love in marriage and the grief of losing a spouse to illness. The review is well-written, explaining many aspects of this book such as traveling, work, and moving around in the best communities.

I had the opportunity to read this heartwarming novel that's about a devoted husbands love for his wife through her cancer diagnosis. Memoirs like this are bittersweet because you get the love aspect but we all know this ends for Mary Ann. Congrats to the author for having the BOTD.

Such a touching, excellent review; this really proves "Last Dance" has sunk deeply into your skin. It packs in elements of love, loss, and memories Stephen and Mary Ann have shared. The way the author has portrayed undying love and celebrated his wife's legacy is very well reflected in your review. We appreciate your candid thoughts on the pacing, and it clearly shows that it is the emotional depth of the story which remained really strong, despite the slow places. We hope that others reading your review will want to discover this poignant tribute themselves.

The review provided valuable insights. The book appears captivating, with Stephen's love for Mary Ann enduring from the moment they first met until her final breath. I'm eager to explore their journey together in more depth.

The Last Dance sounds like a great love story. The story of a lovely woman and a devoted mother, despite the challenges and the impact of ill health conditions in the family. It would be nice to hear about the journey of the Manning family and their travels. Thank you for the review. :techie-studyingbrown:

“Last Dance” by Stephen Manning is a memoir about Manning’s late wife Mary Ann. I really enjoyed the sample that began when Stephen graduated from the University of Nebraska and then passed the CPA exam. He accepted a job offer from Inland Steel in Chicago and his mother told him with tears streaming down her face that he would meet a wonderful woman in Chicago, and they would raise a family together. He noticed Mary Ann when she would go to the cashier on a daily basis across the aisle from accounting and he was interested but had no clue how to approach her. He sold his car since he lived in Chicago and took the bus to work. He noticed that if he left at the right time, he could be on the same bus with Mary Ann every day. One needs to read the book to learn about their first date, going back to Lincoln, NE to meet the parents, their courtship, marriage and having four children. This is a well-written book that does not end with them living happily ever-after. This book is recommended for anyone that has lost a spouse, but the true love story should be enjoyed by all readers.
