All my ancestors, at some point in the family history, were immigrants or refugees. Only one is native to the land of our residence, therefore I am quite well versed in struggles that accompany the process of uprooting and setting up in new life. Apologies, but I don't wish to add more experience in this regard and still congrats on BOTD!

"Odyssey of High Hopes: An Immigrant’s Tale of Sacrifice, Courage, and Love" by Cyrus A. Ansary tells the inspiring story of his pursuit to become a U.S. citizen while aspiring to match his brother's success. The book showcases the value of hard work, perseverance, and patriotism, as Cyrus continued to contribute to his home country's economy even after living abroad. Though initially slowed by lengthy descriptions, the story ultimately captivates with its detailed character development and valuable lessons.

I was really intrigued in this sample from the first page. I've never read a book set in the Middle East, so I appreciated the infusion of geo/cultural custom and references. I also enjoyed the tale told in the first person which gave his experiences feel more intimate. I wish I had more to read,. but it's a great start.

Getting American citizenship as an immigrant is not a walk in the park at all and many have failed. Many people aspire to live the American dream and be successful just like others but do they really make it. Congratulations on making a book of the day.

I like this novel the way Ansary details the struggles he faced while trying to fulfill his life long ambition of becoming a citizen of the united state of America.
He was fiercely passionate about following his dreams, overcoming obstacles and clinging to the hope that he would one day be as successful as his brother.
The value of hardwork and perseverance is a skillfully promoted through out the book and the author provides a highly detailed image of his life on earth by telling his story in such a a lovely and elaborate manner.
