WOW! Until I read this post, I had forgotten that Chima was an actual person. The book reads like a fictional novel, and it was easy to overlook the fact that he really existed. It would be fascinating to read the same story from his perspective.

I agree with Diana that Chima comes across as a fictional character. He was always available and punctual. He seemed to fill every possible role that Spradlin could need from driver to bodyguard.

I found every détails in this book to be interesting. All the side characters are actually portrayed functionally well. I love the character of Clifford who assured Richard that fund will not be a problem for his assignment as Ruth is willing to pay any amount to find her husband. He gives a kind of temporary relieve to the ensuing tension.

Chima, Richard's driver, was my favorite character due to his calm, honest, and loyal nature. He was the perfect foil to other side characters, only questioning Richard when needed, especially when driving him to a dangerous area.

Shirley Ann Riddern Labzentis' favorite character is Chima, Richard's driver. Chima is calm, honest, and loyal, serving as a perfect foil to other side characters. He is prepared whenever Richard needs him and goes wherever he is told to go. Chima only questions Richard when he is asked to drive him to a dangerous part of town.

I loved Chima the most. He was knowledgeableal and loyal to spradlin. I, also, enjoyed Bosede, and watching their relationship go from dislike to tolerable and understanding of each other.

Chima was a standout character for me. His history and actions added to the excitement of the book. I loved Chima's kind and compassionate nature. The side characters, like Peter, his bodyguard, and Nwando, were also intriguing, and I appreciated their close relationships. Chima's loyalty and kindness made him a memorable character, and I’d choose him over and over again among other characters.

It has to be Richard Spradlin. The bravery exhibited by him is still something I have not been able to fathom.

Having read Quest: Finding Freddie: Reflections from the Other Side, I found several side characters to be surprisingly compelling. For example, Lucy, with her quiet strength and subtle influence on Freddie's journey, added a rich layer of depth to the narrative. Her ability to challenge Freddie while still supporting him was a highlight for me. I’m curious to hear others’ thoughts—did anyone else find themselves drawn to characters like Lucy, or perhaps someone else who unexpectedly resonated with you?

One side character that I found particularly fascinating in Quest: Finding Freddie was Elena, the enigmatic traveler Spradlin encounters in the remote village. Her presence adds a layer of mystique and complexity to the narrative. Elena’s own journey, marked by loss and spiritual seeking, mirrors and contrasts with Spradlin’s quest, creating a rich dialogue between two souls searching for meaning in different ways. Her wisdom, drawn from a life of wandering and introspection, offers Spradlin—and the reader—a new perspective on grief and discovery. Elena’s character serves as a poignant reminder of the profound impact that seemingly peripheral figures can have on our paths.

The character of Eliza, with her mysterious aura and deep wisdom, stood out to me. Her role as a guide added layers of intrigue and left me wondering about her own untold story.
